So here goes my setup at the moment i have 2 cdj 2000 and a djm 900 nexus mixer and a traktor control x1 . i have it setup to virtual dj will tell u why later, But on Wednesday i am getting 2 cdj 2000 nexus so i will be running 4 decks.
The reason i use virtual dj is cause when i dj online i like to do requests and with vdj i can search very quick to find the track on my pc or download it and load it up and it gives to instant key and bpm. But my question is how do i go about setting it up do i use the link feature or usb ? . As i have only ever used traktor once does it have that features i need with vdj and should i switch ?
Traktors file browser will easily allow you to find requests instantly just like VDJ and if you need to download a track then that’s just as easy and once downloaded the file can be drag and dropped either into a player or into your library. There will be many that advise not to use wifi/internet while Djing and although I personally have my laptop set up purely for music it will work fine although I would do a
Test run just to ensure you don’t get any audio drop outs
ok i am going to switch to traktor but i have a few questions.
i want to setup my setup like this 2cdj 2000 nexus as they are. But the cdj 2000 i want to work with the traktor control x1. Is this posible if so how do i do it
To get the key and bpm on traktor do i have to run it into mixed in key first ?
It is important to point out that Traktor’s harmonic detection accuracy is REALLY bad. Unbelievably, horribly bad.
Here’s a nice article comparing the available software.
With Traktor’s 54% accuracy, you would absolutely be better off using Mixed in Key instead, as MiK got 95% accuracy in that test. If you don’t want to purchase MiK, even Keyfinder, the Free Open Source alternative, has a higher accuracy rate at 77%.
