akai MPD26 for $75
so im getting a used akai mpd26 for $75. good condition, original box and all. I think im getting a good deal. what do you guys think? thought i’d check with the masters before picking it up. i wasnt able to find any super helpful reviews and was hoping some of you had some hands on experience.
not my type of controller- but it sounds like a pretty friggin good deal. I say go for it 
a quick look on ebay shows them going for between 95ish and 105ish so 75 seems like a good buy.
i’ve got one, it’s a great controller. the pads can be a little under-sensitive but you can adjust the sensitivity in the software that’s comes with it, and modding or replacing the pads with ones from mpcstuff.com is super easy if you need them to be more responsive.
another big plus is that just a little bit of changing the midi messages gives you the 6 faders and knobs, then four banks of 16 pads with different midi messages so they won’t conflict for 76 total controls in traktor or whatever you’re using. i use a numark mixtrack with a basic .tsi for my main mixing and scratching and random other functions, then use the mpd26 for effects wet/dry, three knobs to each of the first two effects, a bank of pads for sample deck playing, bank B for looping controls, bank C for cue juggling, and bank D for more effects control, filter on/off, eq kills, etc. if you’re using it as a sole controller you can get all the basic stuff done, but using it in conjunction with another deck or your keyboard for basic transport controls it really shines.
