Thanks for this. I have traktor and I control using bcd3000. I bought mpd32 recently and struggling to understand why I bought it in the first place. But this completes the picture. I load the midi files as *.tks, but the file you have provided is *.tsi. Can you please explain what needs loaded in traktor ? Do i need to simply map the midi layout using learn function on traktor to as per you have shown in the picture in which case what is the purpose of tsi file?
Hi, Thanks a mil for this/ Pls ignore my previous post. Can you please advise how to adjust the volume of the four decks and also the cross faders. and also how did you get to display mpd32 in the lcd screen of mpd32?
Umm, yes. For example there is a pad which has Tempo Bend and also FX1 on/off (Modifier #1) mapped for the same pad and you should use “Shift” pad to toggle to Modifier #1 which in this case is FX1 on/off.
I had some bugs in my previous post (same midi values on different assignments) and those should be fixed. Also changed the position between pads “Play” and “Shift M#1” for better performance (see the layout picture) and now I have double macros on “Play” and all “Hotcues” so that Traktor will Phase sync when you hit “Play” or one of the “Hotcues”.
Please download new files in this post to apply chages. BTW you should also use Vyzex MPD32 to install the .sqs file included in the zip.
The picture has been grabbed from Akai’s website and therefore the lcd screen displays mpd32… I’ve just sketched my mappings on that picture
If you want to adjust volume of all four decks at the same time from a single knob/fader, simpy in Traktor add new rule for each deck and learn them all to that single knob/fader of your choice. That’s the way to get a “double macro” which means that you have multiple Traktor midi rules mapped to a single pad/knob/fader on your MPD.
It’s for the MPD32, because I had to edit midi values in MPD to fix Traktor double assignment bugs. BUT BE AWARE that if you have other presets in MPD to some other software, this will overwrite all other presets as well. You can use Vyzex to load my presets (.sqs) to your MPD if my Traktor assignments doesn’t work properly. Or then you can change the midi values by yourself straight form the MPD or using Vyzex to prevent loosing other presets.
I recently purchased an Akai MPD32. I am using it with some Visual Software called Modul8. I am experiencing some problems with the behavior of the Pads. What settings did you change the Pads to?
Do I click on EDIT then Press the Pad and change it from NOTE to PROG CHANGE then what?
hello desouza hoping you can help.im having problems with mapping my mpd.i started last night and when i finished everything that i mapped was working as it was intended i also saved the preset on 17 and renamed it as traktor.then today i started up the laptop and opened traktor(without opening vyzex), mapped a few slice presets with values eg(effect par 1 0.700) but when i tried to use them the slice presets werenn’t how i configured them (i.e some weren’t the right values, one that i set as 0 on all 3 values worked but if i held it down all values were at 1.0??).i checked them all and i set them up correctly.so i thought i’d open up the vizex editor and load lasts nights file (no problem).last nights were still ok and the ones i had done today were wrong.is it traktor or maybe the vyzex editor im using v1.0 vyzex and firmware 1.01 mpd.hope you can help
MPD32 firmware is currently v1.03 so you should definitely update the firmware, as there is some bugs in the old version (not all global settings are saved). Hope this helps!
