Anyone spin that hustle hard rap stuff?

Anyone spin that hustle hard rap stuff?

I’m playing at this one spot this Sat. and that’s all they want me to spin SO, does anyone have any recommendations ?

ex. Ace Hood - Hustle Hard

lol. Nothing productive to say but this post / title made me laugh because I have plenty of friends that are for real with this shit.

Some Jeezy and Rick Ross should fit in nicely.

My recommendation is to tell them you don’t play that stuff, and for the benefit of his customers and bar sales, to find a DJ who is properly prepared to play such a night.

Why in the world would you except a gig that you know you can not deliver on? It’s only going to hurt you in the long run.

just listen to the radio and pandora that song im sure you’ll find a lot lol

…this is just the generic

I play x. Someone wants me to play something != x. I don’t play != x. What should I play?

question. I shall give it my generic answer:

If they want you to play the music you own and play; then play.
If they want you to play music you don’t own or play; then don’t play.

This.

There’s tons of hits and classics you won’t have a clue about. And there’s so much of this out right now. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, some Drake, any of the new Kanye and Jay-Z stuff, Waka, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Plies, etc. this is just what comes to mind.

Nothing against the OP, but there’s been quite a few threads about this here lately. And tons of hate from dudes about any genre that is not some type of EDM or House or Electro. Don’t understand the hate either?

with rap, you really got to know what your playin

No hate from me - I enjoy it sometimes. It just reminds me of funny memories of a bunch of my friends sitting around thinkin they straight out da hood listening to this. I was all about it till I got into house.

+1…more importantly you gotta know whats hot in da streetzzz haha…nah seriously though you do have to know whats up in your area.

also spinning hiphop-rap is not like house, you can’t loop that intro or kill that bass lol

Quiet. Let him make a fool of himself at a gig he isn’t prepared for. The other DJ’s in his area who know the deal will be thankful.

Completely this, because …

I can pick up new Ghetto Funk/Breaks stuff and drop it on the money fairly reliably after listening a couple of times to work out the structure of the tune - hip-hop is not like that, it’s a lot less formulaic, and a lot less geared up for ease of DJ use (or at least, DJs that are used to 32 bar intro and outros)

(and to be honest, half of that bragadiccio bullshit that passes for hip-hop in the US charts thesedays can suck a nut … but that’s just my opinion)

just get the maybach music female sample and drop it in everything you play, you will be fine.

so retarded dude, i hate when they do that
