Anyone upgraded to OSX Lion?

Anyone made the switch yet?

Any problems with running programs like Traktor Pro 2 or Ableton?

Traktor never had any Lion specific issues and Ableton has already addressed them.

I don’t really keep up with the OSX stuff but is it even really worth bothering? What does it really add?

Anyone upgraded to OSX Lion?

It came with my MacBook. I’ve had minor issues. Solved a lot of them by following specific procedures when connecting my mixer and opening up traktor. Got some audio dropouts at first but I just switched from 96k to 48k sampling, since there was no point in being at 96k anyway when all I play is 320 bit rate mp3s.

All in all, it’s pretty solid. No issues that have caused me trouble during gigs.

i didnt upgrade, cause are some issues with multimonitoring and other stuff.. dont really know if they are sorted out yet..

there is no point in playin in 48k neither..

nope, lion has some cool features but thats about it.. bought my macbook pro with lion already so really didnt have a choice..

im still not ready to jump…all the mac in the house on lion, but my dj MBP is still SL.

I tried to upgrade to lion but windows won’t let me :disappointed:.

True, but I figure I’ll play at the highest sampling rate I can without audio dropouts. I could probably play 128 kbps mp3’s too and no one would notice but I try not to.

I upgraded to lion the second the update came out, which was a huge mistake. My traktor ran fine, but i had issues with my x1…now that it’s been out for a couple of months, all the bugs seem to have been fixed and i never had any problems.

Numark DJ|IO works on a reboot, but plugging in and out results in high pitched screeching.

Looks like Numark dropped the ball, lots of peeps are having this issue.

Everything else worked just perfectly though.

Can anyone tell me if there are any real benefits to upgrading?

From a DJ point of view? Or production wise?

Upgraded my macbook air from SL to Lion . Was alright i should say , but one day after i finished a set with serato , i turned off my macbook air . Few hours after when i wanted to boot it , it just stayed at the loading circle for hours… Had to reinstall lion again . By miracle , i did a back up 2 days before .

On my macbook pro i have Lion installed. Everything good until i wanted to show it to my friend . Computer acted crazy , it was unusable . The finder bar at the top didn’t want to load up no matter what . Thankfully , i had a backup for that .

On the other hand , my imac running snow leopard never had a single problem . I wish i could install snow leopard on my other computers .

Never had a problem from day one of upgrading to Lion, the only issues I had were old apps I no longer use dont work in the current version OS X.

So dont be scared!

I had upgraded via the Mac App Store from Snow Leopard and encountered a plethora of problems, ended up having to take it to the Apple Store where they did a clean install.. Now it’s running well, but I had to re-install EVERYTHING, but I also got rid of crappy stuff that had accumulated over the years.

Hmmm, I’m really tempted to upgrade to lion tonight after I saw it on a couple of my family’s computers today.

I actually just bought it and it is downloading now, but I’m trying to be cautious.
