Just got my new arcade overlays for my vci. I was waiting until I had everything before I took my case to the machine shop to have the holes cut for my arcade buttons. When I print out the cut guide from Ean’s tutorial and place the overlay on top, I notice that on the new overlay the buttons are spread out further than the cut guide shows. Does anyone have the new coordinates?
Well, I actually was wondering about that my self cause my arcade overlays don’t match my vci arcade cut. I got mine cut to spec of the cut size guide a while ago. (see attached file, this file is smaller for the upload) I gave it to my machinist and he cut the holes of my vci according to this measurements. So, I wasn’t sure if my vci was incorrectly cut or this guide is not the correct one(for this overlays). Did any one else had a similar problem???
sorry for the confusion but that file there is quite old. We have changed the position on the buttons a bit since then. Can you please tell me where you found it so I can make sure its taken down? We are finishing up an arcade upgrade kit for the DIY folks that will be ready in a few weeks.
That kit will contain:
a detailed DVD walk through
arcade buttons
electronics
the overlay
and the latest cut guide in CAD format
I would really wait until that is ready to cut your vci-100. If you already have the overlay email me and we will send you the cut guide.
For those that may have used an old cut guide or has a VCI-100 that is slightly off. We recommend just using the upper half of the overlay. Use a pair of scissors to cut it off just above the line faders and it will look similar to the original plates.
This cutting guide I downloaded months ago. I believe it was from one of the arcade forums. Thanks for clearing that up, I will take your suggestion and cut the overlay to fit it accordingly.
