connect mini jack rca in your original built in sound card to your computer& record with vlc or something like that ![]()
Does your mixer have a “Booth”, or a “Master 2” out? If it does, take a cable from that, to wherever you are going to record the mix (separate recorder, or maybe the mic in on your computer?)
If your mixer doesn’t, you’re gonna need some RCA splitters, to split your Master Out into two pairs (one pair to go to your recorder, and one pair to go to your speakers/amp).
Some useful info would be what sound card you using and what mixer your using.
+1
This is the easiest way. If you need a “stand alone” recorder…look at the Tascam DR-40.
I use a macbook pro, guys, do you think its a good idea to route the “record signal” of my mixer to the soundcard of my computer? with and RCA–> Jack cable?
Yeah it gets the job done, just watch your levels and make sure you aren’t recording a clipped signal.
What audio interfacE? I have a Audio10 (and Audio8 before) and I just loop from the REC OUT on the mixer to one of the free inputs on the interface and record with Traktor.
Ditto with the audio 6. Rec Out into the front input and record thru traktor.
From what i gather your using a zomo mc 1000, those things sure are popular round here.
So it would seem the only input you have is the one on the macbook.
I suggest you get a cable, test it, and if your not happy you can get a dedicated recorder or a higher quality soundcard with a stereo input.
Best to do it that way as the cable won’t cost much and will probably suffice.
