So I have been engaged in the epic search for a new DJ bag to accomodate my HUGE new laptop and my Remote 25SL. I am going to try and use Bomes to completely remap everything so I only need that one piece and, maybe, an expression pedal for something fun.
I talked to the manufacturer of this bag and they have assured me my stuff will fit in it. So, before I shell out $150 for it I wanted to know if any of you guys have ANY experience with this bag.
I almost bought the bag, but I wasnt too crazy about the colors they offered, the grey one is pretty nice. I wonder if they have a show room here in L.A., the office is only like 10 miles from my house.
I ended up getting the Vestax VCI-100 bag that is sold in Germany.
Yeah, they are my friend on my*space (err) but I wish they would offer some kind of discount for dj’s that are always on the road, like give me referral cards or something. I have a hookup for a guy that put clear covers on iPhone, iPod, cells, laptops and what not. I’ve been sending him alot of business and he hooked me up and put a clear cover on my Macbook & black iPod.
Cool, I used to have the Technics cream colored limited edition vinyl messenger bag.
Damn, was I bummed when the holes were that bad that I kept losing all kindsa stuff!
Yeah, I bet they hooked me up through you too. Really bad.
surprisingly enough after like 11 years, it’s still holding to the test of time! not a single hole. just the straps are dying, and the elastic on the sides has long since gone.
I picked up 1 of these suckers as it was all i could get in town. Was originally worried i couldnt fit everything in but i’ve got it absolutely jam packed with everything i need plus a heap of back up leads and general crap i dont need also.
Overall i am extremely happy with it. Sits well on your back. I have my vestax in the padded slot right at the back with the laptop in front. Then in the next comparment i have my laptop power supply, vestax power supply, and leads galore. In the front compartment fits nicely my headphones and AK1 (this compartment is that keep cool stuff so it’s kinda padded too which is good). There is also 2 drink holders which we would obviously never put a drink in so they hold yet again more leads. And also a small zip pocket right at the front for an mp3 player which i keep all my small connections in.
I had a look at a few of the other bags on the site and they all look like good stuff also. I would have loved a bigger back but thats only because i love to carry extra crap around i dont really need lol. The quality is really good and they provide a lifetime warranty if you fill in the card and send it away. (I didn’t worry as wear and tear is always going to happen regardless and by the time its dead i’ll probably want something different anyway).
I emailed them last month about taking a look at one and they referred me to Doug Edge at audiomidi.com to come in. They’re in Chatsworth, So. California. His email is doug@audiomidi.com.
You can contact Woody Moran (woody@nambagear.com) to see if they have a retailer near you where you can look at one.
