Business Cards - can you guys give your opinion on mine?

Business Cards - can you guys give your opinion on mine?

Hey, just a really quick one.

Gonna get some new cards done. Always loved the really simple design.. it’s always made me want to visit their site and give the card out to other people..

But what do you think? should there be some more info on there?

FRONT

BACK

EDIT: Fuck I apologise for the images being so big! At least you can see them…

hey

Really like the design, only thing I would say is that it doesn’t actually say what you do on it. While the club manager or promoter or whatever will remember who you are when you hand him it, once he files it away with the 10’s or 100’s of others he has and then is looking back through 6 months or a year later he may be a little more cloudy on who you are and what styles/genres you play etc.

I think you could probably leave out the “myspace/email/tel” line and put instead here maybe a tagline of some sort to say your a DJ and what styles you play. How exactly you wanna word that is up to you.

But yeah overall like the design, nice and original.

k

I’d agree with Kev, the simplicity may be a draw back, definitely add styles you play (the tag line is a good idea).

Otherwise, the design is great. Very unique logo.

can you upload your files to the forum?
I can’t see youtube videos, photo sharing sites or whatever at my job…

Re: Business Cards - can you guys give your opinion on mine?

I like the idea of ur business card, but I would ditch the myspace thing. I would suggest to make a email [djname]@gmail.com it looks cleaner.

If you want to use myspace as ur main site, use the myspace logo and put ur djname after. For example mine is myspace logo/djjesc

If you need more ideas for business card check out this site. www.nextdayflyers.com

@V-hoff - bad times man! I couldn’t actually work out how to upload photos.. but then again I’m a total spaz when it comes to finding things like that!

@everyone - cheers for the feedback. I never really thought of it like that actually. I got the idea from a band called twister which just had ‘T’ and ‘twister’ on the front and 2 mobile numbers + the myspace on the back. Kept it in my wallet for a coupe of years and always thought it was awesome.

So you reckon something like “Controllerist.Electro.Dubstep.” would do the trick?

or maybe mimicking a standard business card - like “Head Controllerist, Electro/Dubstep Division” - or maybe not..

I was thinking more in terms of promoting with fans, and people having it in their wallets to show people etc - but i guess they should serve a far more practical purpose too!

If you like those suggestions, i’ll mock another up and see what you think

The logo is really nice. But yeah put some info (DJ, styles, etc) on what you do is a plus.

Also I would give more space around the logo by making it smaller, and maybe make the text on the back smaller. I can’t know how big the font is, but anything bigger than 12pts is for your grandpa.

oh and @JesC myspace is crap, but it’s a good hub for other webspace, and they have the simplest URLs. What else would you suggest as an alternative location?

I use facebook alot - would that be appropriate to put Facebook - which is my personal homepage?

I might start gearing it towards DJing a bit more..

@pier - the font’s small, trust me - it’s just these pics are huge! lol

oh just remembered - Chris Mercer (Rusko) has “Dubplate Specialist” as his job occupation all over the place.. that’s kinda quirky.. along the lines of what might work?

Re: Business Cards - can you guys give your opinion on mine?

I hate myspace but some promoters/club owner still require to promote there. I like facebook more and if that’s the main site you use, get the fb logo/ur DJ name!

how could i get the facebook logo to work over the black? sorted..

@jesc. you think myspace aswell then?

Ummm…they look like 2 red X’s to me

Would like to see them as i just designed some myself

At www.Adobe.com there is a 30 day trial for PhotoShop CS4 you should download it and take the trial period to figure it out & edit/create your card on it, it’s professional grade software that helps create whatever you have in mined. there’s a million different text styles alone. Then you said you wanted to add the facebook logo you would just drag it in CS4 and you can edit its colors and everything in a snap/ please refer to youtube for a “how to” as to asking here, it’s all basically there, if you get real stuck then ask me.

Hey Belch, hows about this for facebook? Just chucked it together in PS

@livefaststephen - mate do you work for adobe? if not, you should! hehe
I’m in graphics, so I already have adobe, but thanks anyway dude  (I knocked up these examples on PS CS4…)

attached (yeah, i worked out how to it it, boom.) a possible back. I don’t know whether it looks really lame, or trying too hard.. let me know

One more thing. This is a global world these days so adding some kind of clue as to which continent or country your are from would help. I don’t recognize the format of that phone number so as far as I know you could be from anywhere.

Formatting your telephone number in international format (+…) would solvethat, e.g +49 (0)487… would show you are from Germany and allow people who are local to understand that they need to use the leading 0 when they call.

Using anything but a real website for your homepage is kinda offputting to potential employers, imho.

@fatlimey - nice! never thought of that.. simple but effective. would also visually make the phone number look better i think..

Iv successfully worked for myself partially thanks to Adobe, lol

the front is really nice, the back just looks a little uniform to me…
from a business prospective everything to the “T” is idea, but this
represents you as a creative entertainer, so go out side with it!
