Because the mixer supports both balanced and unbalanced 1/4" connections, I would suggest you prefer to use a balanced patch cable. Depending on the need for male/female xlrā¦
Yes, those look right. Iād use adapters for connecting to the T-Amp rather than yet another specialised cable, but thatās just personal preference.
You could also use more of these adapters and use the RCA output of the DJM850 instead of the XLR outs, if you have spare RCA leads lying around.
Makar1 - Iām taking the plunge on spending some money on nice cables so that I can finally get rid of some stock cables nā connectors that Iāve got lying around! Over the years Iāve accumulated a MASS of various RCAās and connectors/adapters.
Iāve just had a LITTLE windfall and decided to blow it on some nice cables.
Just out of interest, what are you hoping to achieve by using the XLR outputs?
Any why do you have the Behringer unit at all?
The cables that youāve chosen in your last post will do the job but the reality is that for the best sound get some decent RCA leads to go from the RCA output of your DJM to your T-Amp.
EDIT: nice cables ⦠Hmmmm ⦠Try and find some with real Neutrik connectors and Canare/Mogami cable, not the ones you have posted.
Frankle - I just want to use the Master1 Outs of the DJM.
I have the behringer unit because I sometimes use a 2nd laptop for multi-track mixes (some weak ass juggle routines, for example) and so I need to hear the output from Ableton Live from one lappy, and Traktor from another. Having the separate mixer means Iām not fiddling about behind mixers and amps if I need to do any re-routing.
I actually used to use a Behringer patchbay for this - but it got a bit messy, and was taking up too much space on my desk.
Iāll post a set-up pic sometime.
In your PM you said ou had a suggestion? Wanna elaborate?
Itās a hi-fi amp, going into 100w (8ohm) hi-fi speakers.
I want to be sure none of the cables I buy are gonna cause any damage to the amp/speakersā¦
The one thatās confusing me at the moment, is the XLR to TRS cables. Iāll need to buy 2 (for Pio outs M1 L + R, obviously), but does each one need to be MONO or STEREO? I would have assumed MONO, but someone earlier linked to stereo ones.
Each XLR-TRS cable is balanced mono. āStereoā (3 conductor) connectors are used for balanced mono connections, so youāll be buying two āstereoā cables.
yeah - I understand that. is that what I want to do, though? Will I be connecting a āmaleā stereo plug, into a female āmonoā mic input on teh Xenyx? Can I do that/should I do that that?
