Dude that’s a broken link. silly hotlinking foo
@nicky whats the use of a ferrari on a offroad? i mean a kia sorento might not be the best car to get off the road, but its a hell of a lot better than a Ferrari when ur taking it on the grass.
i think i will never use the cdj900 as a controller for traktor simply since not that good. Yeah you are right we have some visuals on the cdj that makes it appealing. as it did to me. (1 of the reasons why i bought the 900 instead of the 850’s) but as i said before when i compare it to the contour by reloop its a loss for the cdj. If the reloop would have had the cdj platter it would be a mean machine.
Dont get me wrong i love my cdj’s but for the price i would love to get a little bit more metal and a lot less plastics..
I set mine up to use both on my comp. Its a few settings you have to change.
You probably would have to do the same thing with 900/2000s
In terms of my 400s I say its almost the same as 900/2000s, at least for reasoning. I like having all that for the flexibility of being able to play whatever the hell I want easily without fear of crashing my computer. So loading a CD/usb/ whatever is easy. I don’t like to be completely tethered to my computer.
Have any of you actually played in real clubs??? Pretty much every single club worth playing has a full CDJ 2000 setup, and most have absolutely zero room for you to come in like a hot-boy and klunk down your midi controller and need to plug your wall-wart into their already-full power strip. If you want to play serious gigs, you gotta play ball and adapt to whatever setup you come across. This is why so, so, so, many producers who begin performing with Ableton or Traktor ALWAYS end up switching to CDJs. It is an actual nightmare to travel with controllers and shamelessly explain to every single sound guy that you need a personal gear assistant for the night.
For a DJ who uses software, showing up to a gig with a big, beautiful set of CDJ’s already rigged up ready to just USB right into? Pretty damn desireable. Eventually, you’re gonna just use rekordbox anyways… but it’s one of the best transitional setups, no doubt.
So get over yourselves.
