Classic Club Mixtrain

Seeing as how mixtrains are a thing right now I would like to propose a classic club mixtrain. We did one a few years ago and I think it’s time for another one…here is the previous tracklist:

what exactly is a mixtrain?

Each person does a 30 minute set.

The first DJ passes it on to the next DJ in line via dropbox with a tracklist of all previous tracks until its complete.

When all parts are complete the train is mixed together as a full length set.

Well, I am pretty old and have been going through my old classic house tunes recently, and just picked up a set of 1210 Mk2’s in pristine condition :slight_smile: So, definitely up for this one.

nice…one more…then we need to decide order…I would like 2 or 3 if thats okay..

Well, I was thinking of doing some early 90’s garage/house, so am happy to go first if needed. Prob better to have that kind of stuff first.

Level wise what do you guys do?

Do you want it limited, or leaving about 6dB headroom so that whoever puts it together limits the final thing?

Are we just sticking within the 90’s and a certain genre ?

I would have thought 88, 89, and 90’s. I suppose some stuff from 2000 onwards could be classed as ‘Classic’, but then it may sound rather more modern compared to the rest.

They have done progressive & trance mix trains in the past, and since it’s ‘Classic Club’ it wouldn’t be hardcore or rave. So, I guess pretty much house/garage. That’s how I read it.
