Cleaning your controller
How do you guys go about cleaning your controller, im assuming you just dont let it get gross. But the one i just got off ebay has gunk around a knob or two and 3 buttons are sticking when i press them. im assuming opening it and cleaning it is the best option but just wondering if you guys have better ideas!
You can get air in a can (Compressed air to try blow stuff out from under keyboards and stuff)
That might work as well, depending how sticky and solid your gunk is… Otherwise opening it up probably is the best option
Give it a bath
I just use a cloth + Isopropyl for day to day cleaning (about $1 or $2 for a big bottle)
For gunk under knobs n’ stuff Isopropyl + make-up brush.
Its evaporates fast and dissolves pretty much all the grease n’ crap that builds up over time. I use it on my Laptop as well BTW.

Wont that dissolve the paint as well though?
It hasn’t on anything i’ve ever used it on ..which is basically all my equipment the past 7 or 8 years.
Permanent marker is a different story though depending on the brand :roll eyes:
Foam Cleaner works a treat as well for REALLY nasty surfaces (cigarette tar, smoke machine fluid, general club nastiness) just be careful not to get any inside pots or faders - small brush recommended for that on sensitive surfaces.

the best way to clean permanent marker is find a dry erase marker and write over it…
disinfectant wipes 
soap and water.
DONT DO THAT!!! go and get the 99.9% alcohol from the drugstore. EVERYTHING else will leave a residue behind, you dont want that. Especially if you are cleaning faders. cotton swabs, Q-tips and other long makup-things, work well for cleaning gunk.
