CMD PL-1 - Assigning FX knobs to different channels
Is there any way to assign out the FX knobs to unique channels? Right now it looks like they’re always on Channel 1, regardless of whether I have Deck 1, 2, 3, 4 selected on the module. Tried fiddling around with the Channel Changer but I’m not quite sure how to use the darn thing.
I was hoping to have it setup so I would have FX units 1 and 2 available on Decks 1 and 3, and FX units 3 and 4 available on Decks 2 and 4. Would be kind of disappointed if I’m just going to have to have FX 1 and 2 sync’d across all 4 modules
The Encoder on PL-1 can’t be configured to switch the channel but if you use Traktor then you’d be able to set a modifier and then assign different states for each encoder mode that you’ve described.
Augh…alright, I see where my mapping might be headed then. So far I’ve been running my mapping for 4 PL-1s and 1 MM-1 with All Channels, so it’s agnostic of what order I set the controllers up in. Preferring to do it this way because I will be taking sometimes 1, 2, or all 4 PL-1’s out depending on where I’m heading, and it makes it easier to recover if one of the USB connections gets accidentally pulled out.
If I wanted to set it up so that deck A and C control FX 1/3 and deck B and D control FX 2/4, that means I need to would need to basically create a few pages specifically tied to PL-1 #1, #2, etc.?
Kind of wish they were different per deck assignment, complicating my mappings more than they need to haha
