Ean, these forums are great. The one thing that gets me about beat juggling though is does it really translate to the dance floor? Especially routines like the first video… care to discuss?
It was a showpiece. The same can be said of turntableist displays of technical skill, hardly bootie shakers. Hardly even rhythmical in many cases.
Actually, in the same way many of the modern breakdancers are choosing IDM and Electronica to dance to these days, I’d love to see a turntableist display using some more “out there” Aphex Twin or Autechre tracks. I mean, how could you tell where the scratching ends and the track starts, eh?
