When I was in Berlin a couple of years ago i went to Berhrain which was sick, and a place in a high building at alexanderplatz called weekend if i remember right. Matrix was also a cool club, a bit more mainstream though.
good luck!
Go to Tresor and go downstairs.
KaterHolzig on a Friday is an absolute must!!!
Berghain/Panoramabar?
prince charles
cookies
club der visionäre
kater holzig
trust bar
panorama bar/berghain
stadtbad wedding (occasional parties)
chalet club
watergate
ritter butzke
weekend
tresor
mikz
that is all i can think of right now
Hm, should I expand on Ed’s list? Or shouldn’t I? In any case: Max is spot on with Kater Holzig, I’d rather go on a sunday though.
It also really depends what you’re into. I personally don’t like Watergate and Weekend for example, even though they always book good people.
Well i have never been to Berlin but i have heard that the night life out there is amazing..do post some pictures if you get a chance to click them.
Weekend club. Very good as I (partially) remember.
Thanks guys
I tried KaterHolzig and couldn’t get in. hahaha fist time got refused to a club
should have said you got to make friends with girls in the queue to get in if youre a group of boys… and split up ![]()
I was only with girls, hot ones too ![]()
why they no let u in then? plus pics of hot girls or it didn’t happen ![]()
Heading over to Berlin the last week of August to sample the local ‘techno’s’. Hopefully they let me in! haha
Seen this review and thought it might be of interest here
Hi guys I just want to share an experience that I had in Berlin that has guaranteed that I will return to the city. Myself and a group of 6 other friends came to Berlin to experience what we believed to be a great night-life, great however is a massive understatement as it was nothing short of AMAZING. Like most party goers new to the Berlin club scene we were eager to try the infamous Berghain nightclub, we arrived at a good time as there wasn’t much of a crowd outside so we got to the door pretty quickly, unfortunately however, that’s where our good luck ended and we were denied entry into the club, almost as if the bouncers could sense that we just didn’t belong there, we decided not to protest and quietly left and got a taxi to Tresor. Here we were also unfortunate in that the male to female ratio was too unbalanced and the bouncer would not allow us entry. We left feeling despaired and disappointed that our night was falling to pieces, we wandered vainly in search of anywhere that would accept our rag tag group of party goers. About half a mile down the road from Tresor we happened to stumble upon a commune/cult like underground club and had a great time there, however it was nearing 4 in the morning at this point and it closed within 20 minutes of us being there. We resigned ourselves to going home and trying to get into Berghain tomorrow but as we were leaving we heard the words SchÖnnaupaul Club being said several times. I asked this English couple beside me what SchÖnnaupaul Club was and they said it was the hottest secret club in Berlin at the moment AND it was within walking distance. We decided to try our luck and by splitting our group up into two’s and three’s we made it past the bouncers, two strikingly handsome and clearly popular men, even though I did not know who they were I felt strangely star struck, my new English friends informed me that they were the owners and that we should be honoured that we got their seal of approval to enter as apparently only 90% of those that try are refused entry into SchÖnnaupaul Club. Only two of our group of seven made it in. Once past the doors we had to walk through an area covered in spray paint and piles of rubbish before entering into the valley like main area which pushed the boundaries of excellence, in this area the resident dj whom I think was called Dj Blu Cantrell played some techno remix of the song ‘In Bloom’ by Nirvana for the entire duration of our time there (about 6 hours) between each set a video of pope John Paul saying “Children of Ireland I love you” was played (it was so bizarre). If you keep walking through the club you will come to an area with just sand all over the ground and you would be forgiven for thinking you were at the beach, the vibe here was very chilled out. Further on is the smoking area at the back of the club and beside a river. This club has been the most stand out moment of my stay in Berlin, those of our group that got in were pretty sober but the atmosphere alone made us feel as if we were on the best drug in the world. I did however have some qualms with the club, people hear stories of what goes on in Berghain and some of them are pretty out there but nothing compares to what I saw in SchÖnnaupaul Club. If you wanted a drink inside options included a pea sized shot of semen served on one of those slides you put into microscopes and shots of literal river water and the crazy thing is that people actually ordered and drank these things. The male toilet facilities were two bin bags held up by an elderly gentleman, one for urine and one for excrement and he would hold up whichever one you needed to use (we didn’t see where he disposed of these bags). Apart from that SchÖnnaupaul Club has been probably the best experience I have had in my life to date. After two more attempts at getting into Berghain I was successful but left after two hours as it simply did not reproduce the raw unfiltered stench of freedom that SchÖnnaupaul Club provided. I will go here solely next time I return to Berlin.
