Cracked Traktor Scratch Pro 2.6.3 or higher on Mac!

No he studied the product pages until he could recite them in his sleep.
That’s what you do before you spend £100’s of pounds. I’ve taken as longer to pick an apple from a grocer than the time some people take to research DJ kit.

This exact situation has been repeated so many times I couldn’t begin to put a number on it.

I also totally reject that NI makes it hard to understand the procedure for buying the correct software. It’s all there on the product pages and in the Knowledge Base and, of course on the damn NI forum where anyone can get a direct answer to such an easy subject.

No doubt that Traktor can be daunting… so that’s why you do the research before purchasing.

Also, the OP said “only to realise”, this suggests that the prior research was not done.

Which is why I did not close the thread and gave the guy chance to explain.

We have now made some progress. I suggest that people stop mixing the pot and let the OP resolve his situation to his satisfaction.

It’s quite fascinating to see how this discussion degenerated to people being rude to eachother about being rude.

So then let the next post and continuing posts be constructive and help the user out or i’ll just delete them because the vultures have are circling and they will start picking at the flesh soon.

Here’s my grain of salt on this. I had similar issues when I bought my sound card second hand. Unfortunately, you’ll have to contact the seller again. Don’t be rude about it because we sellers won’t make an extra effort for rude people, just ask him nicely. When I sell stuff, I always make sure to specify if the serial is include or not but I know a lot of people don’t do that.

If the seller is willing to giving you the serial number, great. He’s gonna have to contact NI to get it unregistered. That could take a few days. If he is not ready to give you the SN, you’ll have to buy the upgrade kit. You could also sell your A6 and buy a new one so you’ll get a SN that was never registered.

Don’t go the crack version way. Seriously, I went legit while some of my friends didn’t and my setup always works fine and upgrades properly while they’re always cursing theirs out.

If you need more help let me know, I was once a newbie here and asked so many questions when buying my gear and setting it up that the least I can do is help new ones out! Cheers

Everyone is forgetting (and the OP has not made it clear) how old the Audio 6 is because is was originally sold without TSP and timecode but as he paid £200 it suggest that he paid for the full setup and did not receive it.

If the seller sold the A6 and kept the Software he has breached the EULA as the hard and software are linked so if the software has been registered it likely that the hardware will not be able to be registered as it is linked to the software.

If the OP sells the Audio 6 the new buyer will not be able to register it for support because it will still be registered to the original owner that still has the software.

Regardless, the OP should ask the seller about the software. If the seller will not transfer ownership he should seek a refund.

This is not as clear cut as it might seem.

Karlos,
Of course it’s in your interest to defend NI - your position all but demands it. I am saying, they are peddling SW and kit and are delighted they can make it appeal to everyone who will buy it, regardless of their willingness to read the Traktor Bible, et al. If they advertised that as the single most arduous DJ software available, with a remarkable learning curve that you will absolutely need to study and search forums with intention for some time before you can convincingly use it - the marketing staff would be sacked. But if it was easy, it’d be called Serato and there would be no place for a “Bible.” But gosh, thanks for not modding this thread into the locker. It’s nice to have some textured activity on this forum, lest it continue down the road to irrelevancy.

I’ve never really read the Traktor Bible or the official manuals and have never had trouble understanding the NI product pages.

The Traktor Scratch sound cards have included everything you need for several years now, and a simple Google search will bring up numerous beginner-friendly guides for every possible setup.

Karlos, I agree with you in theory, but in practice, a lot of people upgrade their hardware and don’t provide the software when they sell the old hardware. And in practice as well, a lot of people won’t give you a refund when you buy second hand. Is anyone going to start legal procedures for that? No, it would be a waste of time and money in my book. That’s why I wrote what I wrote.

Firstly, I do not work or for or represent NI. This has been made clear on this forum for years and my criticisms of NI are well documented so please, spare me the “defend” rhetoric because it is untrue. Also, Traktor Bible is in no way connected to NI. It is the work of one man and me as an editor and is not approved by NI.

Also, no matter how easy or hard any software is there is zero excuse for not fully researching the product.

I’d have just as little sympathy for someone buying a Rane SL1 and then complaining that it doesn’t work with Serato DJ which it is clearly documented that it does not.

If people cannot get their heads around Traktor then they need to read more… simple as.

…and Makar1 is probably the most knowledgable member of the NI DJ Forum.

Correct.

…and this is in breach of the EULA. If the OP had paid £200 for just an Audio 6 then he paid well over the odds because the whole TA6 package is available at that price. A simple check on eBay/Google can tell what you should be paying for something.

No, and NI won’t follow it up either because it is for the buyer to have researched the buying process.

NI cannot (by law) release software registered in someones name who has sold the hardware even if the seller has agreed to provide the software. If the software is registered, NI’s hands are tied by law.

I have been dealing with this exact issue for years and it never changes. Unless you get a forwarded copy of the Transfer Of Ownership form or you ask NI if a serial has been registered (they will tell you if it is unregistered) then you are buying blind and you should not make the purchase.

…if you are buying a physical box and the seller allows it.

(cant edit my previous post. I think Chrome is messing up)

I agree with you, a simple check tells you. I’ve bought hardware without a SN and I’ve always paid less in that case, but that was my choice. In the end, it’s your job as a buyer to make sure you don’t get scammed and get what you pay for so in this case, the OP should have researched the hardware but the software as well and made sure he was getting exactly what he was paying for. I believe NI’s website is pretty clear about how to unregister a software when you sell it because I remember finding this info quickly when I bought my first S2 second hand a while back.

This…

Its NOT Rocket-Science…WOW!

With a bit of enthusiasm and passion for rocky out on a controller…it was easy to pick up all the bits if info.

I sure as shit dont have time to study anything. All it took was playing with it and exploring the software.

LOL…I still don’t get what the big deal is.

CDJ2000’s have their learning curve too!
