Too many traktors??

Too many traktors??

As there seems to be a few variations on this sofftware how do I know what one is right for me?
Is there a breakdown of the specific versions and what they bring to the table pros/cons?
Is there a ultimate version with all features included??
If two different types are bought do they join as one or are two seperate programms?

Any ideas??

Traktor Pro 2 if you use a controller.

Traktor Scratch Pro 2 in you use vinyl timecode.

simple enough.

Thanks

Is all the software indivually purchasable?

Each version in that list is available seperatly. Both full Scratch versions come with a sound card. Unless you have a previous version or a compatible mixer or sound card (NI only) you don’t qualify for any of the upgrades.

Even if you have bought the sound cards and own different versions of Traktor, be very careful with the website.

I bought a new audio 6 and timecode vinyls thinking I could go to the NI website and upgrade from Traktor Pro 2. I have now purchased several items recommended by the NI website over a week ago. I STILL don’t have anything that works as a valid serial number for DVS.

NI USA support is not the easiest or quickest to work with.

My advice is to try to figure out exactly what you want from the beginning and buy that. If you try to build a system and add features as you go, NI will make it very difficult for you.

I wasn’t even considering this sort of possiblity..I thought it would be pretty straight forward to add pieces here and there? How is digital aint as simple as buying decks, mixer tune’s DMT FTW…

Yes, you would think it would make great sense to make it easy to upgrade Traktor Pro 2 to Traktor Scratch Pro. It seems to be nearly impossible without starting over with a complete product. I am having a horrible time with NI.

  1. There isn’t a direct upgrade path from Traktor Pro 2 to Traktor Scratch Pro 2, unless they’ve changed it recently.

  2. If you want Traktor Scratch Pro 2 and have Traktor Pro 2, the recommended patch is to sell Traktor Pro 2 to offset the cost of Scratch Pro 2. The only upgrades to Scratch Pro 2 they have, to my knowledge, are to upgrade from an older version of Scratch, from Scratch (1 or 2) Duo, or from Traktor S4. If you want a system with the Audio 6 and Scratch Pro 2, you’re best off getting Traktor Scratch Duo 2 and then upgrading to Traktor Scratch Pro 2. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, PM me and I’ll see what I can do to help. I don’t work for NI but I had been looking at the pricing for a while before I ended up getting my S4.

What keeb says is truth. There is no upgrade path from regular Pro to Scratch. The Scratch software is completely separate even though they are identical minus the DVS capabilities.

Interesting. Tech support has told me to buy a different upgrade and it will work… Could it be that they are wrong and are just squeezing me for invalid upgrades?

(Edit: Have I hi-jacked this thread, or is it still relevant to the OP?)

What exactly do you have now?

Never mind I see you have the Audio 6. Then what you should buy is the Certified Upgrade kit for $339.
This upgrade only works for registered users of TRAKTOR AUDIO 10, TRAKTOR AUDIO 6, AUDIO 4 DJ, AUDIO 8 DJ and for users of Certified Mixers.
You won’t be able to install and activate this version unless you own one of the required products listed above!
1. An Audio 2 (Traktor LE 2)
  2. An Audio 6 (Traktor LE 2)
  3. Traktor Pro 2 (Upgrade from an LE or DUO?)
  4. A $79 Scratch upgrade (suggested by the website, not really good for anything)
  5. A $139 S4 Scratch Upgrade, recommended by tech support/order support
(the product box is not in stock, so that serial number is unavailable to me. Looking at the website, I thought it would be a Download, because the little green light was on next to where it said Download In Stock. Why would I need the product box? For the vinyl? Nope, I already bought that.)

I don’t, but it’s no wonder some people use the torrent versions.

im with the OG poster, im lost with all the NI version. it should just be two 1 DVS & 1 midi…no need for DUO, LE, etc with its nightmare keeping track of whats new. I wish NI would follow what Serato did with their gear and made it a hardware dongle, for atleast the DVS version. If you got the soundcard it should activate the DVS feat.

From the NI site. Is this what they’re recommending to you now?

If you want to sell your license of Traktor Pro 2 and you upgraded from LE or Duo then you will need to give this serial number to the buyer as well because they have to follow the exact install path you did.

From the NI site when you try and buy that. The idiots at NI should maybe read it.

That’s only for people that have an S4 so they would need the vinyl since they never had a scratch version before. If they did the upgrade to Scratch was free from S4 software.

When you get those vinyls let me know, I may buy that scratch upgrade off you.

Hmmm so with the upgrade kit that retaling now (audio 10 plus vinyls/cds cables) as in that list it mentions the audio 10 and wouldnt it work just getting that pack?? Or am i missing something as that would save spending a further 100bucks.than going full tsp2 pack?!?!?!?!

To use that pack you need to already own the audio 10.

But if it is in that pack you do already own it.

The $339 kit would have you all set. It’s the Traktor Scratch Pro 2 software and the vinyls. It does not include a soundcard because it’s meant to be what you buy if you already have a soundcard or a mixer with a Traktor compatible soundcard in it (Traktor Scratch Certified mixer like the DJM-900, Mackie d.4 Pro, Korg Zero 4, etc.). The $79 upgrade is if you had Traktor Scratch Pro 1 and wanted to upgrade to 2. The $139 upgrade is if you have Traktor S4 and want to upgrade to Scratch Pro 2. The $339 upgrade is what you actually needed.
