on sharp.
but theres no reason for it.
i use the line faders only, and the cross as a safety to stop me from doing something stupid on those off days
i havent used a crossfader in years.. personally I prefer mixing with the line faders.
Mine is deactivated
cut, anything else happens on the linefaders and EQs!
mines set to a sharp curve for scratching, but like most i mix normally on the channel faders
Sharp. I don’t use cf for mixing or scratching, just sometimes use it for cuting vocals from accapelas or so. Thats why it so sharp!!! ![]()
This
CUT always cut for sample drops and just generally going mad cutting between dubstep wobbles.
any ideas on what i can remap my cross fader to do?

Mine is set sharp because my xone:dx’s filter assignment follows CF assignment. If the assignments were independent, it might as well not be there. One of these days, I’ll unplug it and see if the filter assignment still works. If I ever get around to getting another CDJ or (less likely) a platter controller, I’ll get a different mixer or an Innofader and learn to scratch, but it’s so expensive to do that it’s not really a priority.
On my VCM-600, the CF is set up as a macro control that fades between master and cue signal to my headphones…and it’s set wherever the hell the curve adjustment happens to have been bumped to…using it like that, I couldn’t care less what the curve adjustment is.
Maybe Stutter effect?
Cut.
I’m playing around on the S4 and have it mapped to control dry wet. Kind of fun, but not sure I’ll keep it like that.
SCREW YOU GUYS.
Line faders are for noobs. I cut with my line faders and then turn all the EQ knobs at once to fade in a track.
IN FACT I’m going to get a graphical equaliser for each deck and raise each individual fader.
Im a n00b then.
I use the crossfader and linefader…setting the curve on the S4 is a big ? for me…I need to read manuel.
I was just playing. To be honest I don’t really give a shit. The best DJs will be the one who uses their chosen method the best way, not those who use a certain method.
sharper than a piece of paper that’s been folded to a fine point, dipped in lemon juice and jabbed into someones eye.
use line faders for gentle/smooth fades. x-fader is to cut/chop and nothing else imo
