Daytime jobs?

Daytime jobs?

So assuming you guys aren’t all extremely successful djs/producers that I’m lucky to be communicating with, what do you do during the day?

I’m a college student and I work on campus at a desk job.

How do you find money to buy all this outrageously expensive stuff?

Extremely off-topic.. my bad.

I practice the piano during the day. I teach piano during the night. I fit djing in between. Going to uni next year to study music. I got my stuff in increments. I first bought an eeepc 701 for like 400, upgraded to the 1000h for another 100, then traded it for a macbook for another 500. and eventually got the vci-100 and firebox through more trades.

college student, made some money with organizing parties last year, got all the equipment i need for now.

I am a legal assistant at a big law firm in Manhattan.
I use my hard earned cash to buy expensive shiny toys and CDs… most of which I will never recoup engaging in this hobby.

But we suffer for what we love, right?

I guess. Too bad the ratio of suffering to enjoyment is way off. (Tell me someone here has seen Office Space: “The ratio of people to cake is too big…”)

Suffering:Enjoyment
9:1

:rage:

I am a student, but am currently interning full time, which is good because I am making money, too bad my bank account is joint with my parents so they can see all the money I am spending. This is why I am procrastinating spending ~$420 on speakers.

I´m running a small car garage specialized in servicing an restoring Citroen DS and Saab 900.So I´m able to torture my (female)apprentice with electronic music.

A/V Technician at CUNY Graduate University M-F.
I’ve been DJ’n for years and am steadily trying/buying new gear. I’m not spinnin’ as much as I used to, so the gear is mainly being bought now on necessity…and apartment size

I work as a consultant focussing on Finance and Insurance for the worlds largest Auto retailer… I train people on a bi-monthly basis so get to subject them to my music for a week long residential course!

Been djing since 1992 so when you divide my total outlay by the number of years… actually it’s still quite a lot!

Cheers

Dude, I love what I do. My suffering:Enjoyment is totally

Dual trade ticket holder (Millwright/Insulator)

I work 9 months out of the year in Fort McMurray Alberta (2 months on {12 hour days} 1 month off) which allows me to do basically whatever I want…

Yeah I know all about that :disappointed:.

Unfortunately my initial-work-determination to later-determination is like 100:1.

Okay probably that’s enough ratios for one day. Hello high school math.
