Deadmau5 using 2x Kontrol X1's??

Everyone hates on mau5 and im not a huge OMG its deadmau5 fan but I’ve listened to about 4 of his albums now and I don’t think anyone can deny his progression/change…his layers are always good idk.

That being said I would never go to see him live because I’ve heard its pretty boring/seen vids of it being pretty boring.

And I don’t think anyone can deny that he has talent. He obviously isn’t one of the top 5 dj’s in the world for nothing.

The way he dj’s live is interesting and different from most dj’s…he’s said in interviews that if people are paying to go see him, he’s going to play his music and his music only much like any band. He’s not going to mix the newest bangers together and have awesome new unreleased tracks from other artists. For the most part, a deadmau5 concert is a show where you listen to deadmau5 and deadmau5 only.

lolllls

sick!

Pretty sure he isn’t boring if people still pay to go see him live. Besides you wouldn’t know because you have never been. My feelings are since he has gotten big and that he has sold out a lot of places, then he can’t have boring live shows.

POW! RIGHT IN THE KISSER! He is clearly doing something right or else you would have never heard of him. Besides look at OP’s original picture, there are a shizz ton of people there.

 John Travolta meets Robin Hood and they go line dancing

Lol’d at the TF2 reference…
People go see artist who are mainstream…so the whole why would ppl pay to go see him doesn’t really apply here.

If you have singles playing on the radio then every hipster 16 yr old out there is going to want to see you and your shows don’t have to be that good becuz the hype is so high coming in.

Nothing wrong with that but its just not my thought going into see anyone live…Im not thinking, ‘this is going to be so good because so and so is playing’

Just my opinion on live shows I guess.

I like benga’s attitude about music going mainstream.

It’s called a great marketing team/strategy, this includes his nonsense on facebook and minecraft.

He’s currently using an A&H DB4 and two X1’s. There might be an iPad in his setup as well.

He’s our monster, we created him, the bedroom production geek, and now that he’s famous and does write to us anymore, we hate him? His newest album is lacking, but i’ll still play his older stuff if the mood is right, and he’s a fantastic lesson on how to spread your music and gain a following, the mouse head is a cheeky gimick but instantly recognisable as is his held synth chords, the mouse head didnt make him but as a guy running ableton it allowed him to inject some showmanship into an area where people are often accused of browsing e-mails while their music plays on itunes. Daft punk and now their tributes are doing the same, not everyone is richie hawtin sulking behind an LED wall

Except everyone I know who loves him to death does not play minecraft and does not “like” him on facebook. Pretty sure they hear him on the radio or on tv shows, like Chuck for instance, and like what they hear. Also, his partner in crime Skrillex has none of that marketing and yet he is still huge.

what is a dead mau5?

he’s aight
