Decent soundcards…

Hello

Can you give me some recomendations for a good quality, 2 channel soundcard to hook up my laptop with my mixer.

Thanks

Job Done!!!

What he said.

Apart from the audio 2…

Well if you’re after a 2 channel soundcard, the audio 2 is high quality, low latency and not expensive. There’s a reason so many of us have it. What else were you looking for?

Just other alternatives really. Same sorta price range, quality etc…

As far as I know, there really aren’t any soundcards that match in both price and quality.

I’ve heard terrible things about the Numark I/O 2 and I think that’s really it in the 100 price range.

shrug

I know I guess you have already decided against it…

I cant fathom why.

But another +1 for the Audio 2.

I’ve got the audio 2 as well.

He said to hook it up with his mixer!
Are you planning on mixing externally or just for a soundcard to output to the club mixer?
Will you be planning on using timecode? Would you possibly need XLR or any other kind of wierd imputs? I myself have an Audio 4 DJ, but consider also a Focusrite Saffire 6, if you plan on externally mixing that is!

But then he would want a 4 channel sound card, not two. Unless he’s planning on sending mono…

ESI U46DJ. 3 Stereo outs, 2 stereo ins.

<£120.

I used to use a M-Audio Fast Track USB for recording only, but about 2 years ago I started using it (for about a year) for Dj purposes, the quality is pretty good, and the price isn’t too high.

I was in a similar situation as you a few months ago and I did a lot of research and the NI sound cards all were ranked the best.

So I got the Audio 4

you could hook up an audio2 to a mixer

yup. 2 channels into an external if you want.

2 x audio 2 dj + ASIO drivers = 4 channel sound card for absolutely no money

But no phono pre amps, I was gutted when I realised that, I almost bought one. :stuck_out_tongue:
Looks really damn cool though. Might get one anyway…

The original U46DJ DID have pre-amps. I use one for DJ Decks with Serato Vinyl. Keep an eye out on ebay for a u46DJ.

A lot of software has built-in pre-amps, so the U46XL should be fine…

I’d much rather have real pre amps than software. I mean it’s probably all fine and dandy, but it just seems wrong… :stuck_out_tongue:

Why the hell doesn’t any of the NI cards have an actual switch to change from line to phono like all the other sound cards? Only thing I dislike about my little audio 4.

I was in your shoes and I had to find a good 2 ch soundcard. had a M-Audio FastTrack Pro, for me it was very noisy. had a PreSonus FireBox, it died within 2 weeks. got a Native Instruments Audio2DJ, couldn’t be happier. Its loud and clean and simple. Did a head to head with an Rane SL1 and an ESI-Gigaport, and I thought my sound blew both of them out of the water. +1, there is a reason everyone loves their A2DJ.
