I posted a thread a while ago asking about a mixer to go with an X1 (or two). I got a lot of great responses but most were for 4 channel mixer, as I had asked, but now as I realize I probably won’t be getting a second X1 for a long time 2 channels is really just fine.
I put buying the mixer off but all of a sudden I’m getting gigs in like the last 3 weeks (went from the odd friends house party to 2 shows and now opening for a Seattle DJ who opened at Freaknight 2012, ****ing stoked.)
The main two channel suggestions I got in the last thread were DJM250 and Xone 22. DJM250 sounded good at first but reviews make it sound like absolute crap. Xone 22 is definitely in my price range and seems like a great choice, but before I make that decision, I’d like to hear about some other 2 channel mixers I could look at that are in the price range. Only thing I didn’t really like about the Xone 22 was that it seems pretty skimpy on features, but what can you really expect from an entry level, yet professional, 2 channel mixer.
So, at this point Xone 22 is the top choice, but as usual I want to be 200% what i’m buying is what I want.
Suggestions?
EDIT: I haven’t heard a lot at all about the xone 32, it’s not much mroe expensive than the 22 and it seems to have a lot more going on. Any first-hand experience? Also DJM 350?
Although I’d love it, Z2 is pretty outside of my price range at this point.
EDIT: Just read it has a built in soundcard and all that, is it like an Audio 8? Cause that takes down the price of my mixer by like 200$ because I need a soundcard… Is this correct?
Satisfied Xone 22 owner here.
I’d let the masses road test the Z2 for a while first before you commit to buying it - it did only just come out so nobody knows if it will have any widespread failings just yet. At least the other options have been out a bit longer (particularly longer for the xone 22) so you should be able to see a trend in satisfied customers or reports of common faults etc.
The T1 looks good, cheaper than Z2 and no need for soundcard, feels kind of silly though cause it would like defeat the entire purpose of the X1 almost, as it has all those controls.
But is it really worth considering getting one of those two just because it also functions as an audio 8? cause those look like they cost like 400$ on there own.
If you are ever going to use it with CDJ’s or turntables, yes. Keep in mind that the Z2 comes with a full Traktor Scratch Pro 2 license and timecode CD’s and vinyl… the DJM-T1 comes with a lesser version of Traktor, which means you would have to purchase a Traktor Scratch upgrade kit.
Pretty sure NI has a pretty solid track record with everything they have made, so you can either get outdated technology knowing exactly what to expect, or get the latest technology based on past success. I would choose the latest technology personally.
I got a vestax 07pro w/audio 6 soldered into board. if interested i’d make a video showing the features of it. 2-channel mixer and I have the session in/out setup independent for c/d/sample decks. Works great for scratching and mixing. Everything works on it and the best thing is you don’t have to have all the wires outside the mixer.
well,a bit of intel would help…for example,do you skratch?///or do you want to?..what level or style of dj are you or would like to become.the vestax 07 hybrid that was posted is great, can also be done with a vestax 06 and the x1 to do all that onna not so crazy budget…but if you jus wanna mix and not really kut,the separation kinda starts there.also, you could also put an inno-fader into most cheap 2 channel battle mixers and the x1 and walla’…you are doing all the above.
hope this helps, let me know and i will try and find you whichever mixer you are looking for atta’ fair price.
