More like everything electronic is “techno” nowadays. The best thing I’ve ever heard was somebody ask if some hardstyle song I was playing was dubstep. This was not a joke.
But I digress: Wow. That’s insulting to Dennis, and any nightlifer who likes decent music.

do want you want OR get payed to do what they tell you is what i learned so far, pls correct me if i’m wrong
South Beach is pretty awful, they happen to bring in a lot of big name DJs though and it sucks you have to usually go to their crappy venues to see them. if it’s any indication Mansion is literally like 80% a giant VIP area sectioned off in the middle of the dance floor. There is like a tiny dance floor in front of it up front that gets cramped then other than that you’re forced onto the sides of this huge VIP area or in the back if you’re not a douchebag and want to listen to some music and dance.
He was booked by a major club that knows what type of music he produces and what his label is, he’s not just some resident DJ who showed up and decided to play some music that didn’t fit for the night- he was booked for his name/style.
we have that “problem” here also where i live, there is this one FUCKING AWFUL location where everyone is a big fat asshole incl. securitys, owner, bar people, event organizer, everyone, … and everyone is going there and pay them entry and everything, because there isnt an alternative here.
i always tell them to not go there and let them fall into the red numbers and wait for another owner which want to run this location, like we had the last several years 3 times in this location ^^

Also, xone, that description sounded more like Set. Mansion seemed fine the one time I was there…you know…apart from Steve Aeoki ruining everything he touches.
Maybe it was set up different then but usually it’s like this:

In addition to that new Fucking DJ Blend is playing at Lizard Lounge here in Dallas for the second time. And for the second time it will be sold out show. 
It will be the same night I will be playing at my residency, so I will have a near empty club again. The scene is fucking pathetic.
I lived down there for 3 years. I went out in south beackh maybe a total of 6 times aside from WMC… Mansion is terrible, and I think its pretty much how Xone summed it up. Set is really no better so you are kinda right also… lol.
Anyhow, once someone is booked, whether the club likes the music or not, leave the fucking DJ alone. Its just fucking disrespectful, but I can’t say I am at all surprised. Long live the Lady Gaga remixes and David Guetta cheesy fucking trash!

He is this youtube freak that bounces around while he pretends he is mixing. He got a huge following on youtube. Eventually he started getting gigs and is now touring the country. He wears a chuckie mask and acts like a tool titty twisting knobs and bouncing around.
People behind the scenes at Lizard Lounge have confirmed that his mixes are premade (possibly by someone else)
But, much like Pauly D, he gets people in the clubs so he gets booked.
