More REAL House DJ’s getting kicked off the decks

This is getting fucking embarrassing. First Ferrer, and now Farina. Guess what… if you don’t like the music, it’s not fitting the environment of your club, or your patrons don’t like it, be professional. Don’t get take the DJ off. Find your promoter, music director, or whoever handles the bookings for your establishment, and tear them a new one or fire them. Mark Farina was given the boot because a couple of whales probably wanted to hear some rhianna.:expressionless:

It’s a Vegas club. It’s more likely that it was the clubs musical director.

Here’s a promo vid with what I guess is their residents. Funniest part is that they mention their biggest influences are soul, funk, and stuff from the 80’s. All the while, the video’s music didn’t represent that at all from what I heard.

This is really becoming a scary trend. Why do they book dj’s known for playing a certain type of music if you want them to not play that music?

I think people will need to close this in contracts, the genres they will play, and what they won’t. This is becoming upsetting as it is.

Mushroom jazz is what got me into nice downtempo hip hop sets. There’s not a single mushroom jazz I don’t like. This is really unfortunate.

Maybe they book him literally for the name? Then put their resident sh!t heads on to play to the crowd, thus getting the people and playing the music they want. The booking cost is made up for the amount of people there to see Farina, or people who know hes a good dj and have no clue about house at all.

I’ve decided that the new popular “house” music will now (and until the end of this nauseating trend of clowns goes away) be refered to as Hau5e. I think it’s the perfectly fitting tag

DISCLAIMER - I actually like Deadmau5e, but his head gear gimmick did sort of become the symbol/mascot of bad taste and “clowns” within the new and popular explosion of “hau5e”.
