why are there 30 + threads of this same question??
go get good at dj’ing before making a logo
thanks for the help buddy…
Go to Deviantart plus there was an article about this on the front page. Go look it up.
And I’ll second this. Before you get all caught up in making a logo/website/DJ name/and so on make sure you actually have a good “product” to advertise.
Believe me i understand, it was just a rude reply. but no worries, moooooving along.
How long have you been DJing for?
about a year and a half now…
Ok, why the need for a DJ logo?
Because now that i am starting to get gigs, i would like to make buisness cards and put a nice logo on them.
Wow guys, give him a break. I understand that there are topics about this already, so pointing him in the right direction for it might be useful.
As for the comments about “being good” before getting a logo made, thats just nice way of putting someone down. There are loads of products, DJs, and companies that are terrible, but a lot of them have a logo anyway.
A logo should represent someone or something regardless of quality. The logo will be his calling card so to speak. If I saw someone who had only a few weeks under his or her belt with a logo and card, I would be quite impressed that they took the time to represent themselves properly.
Keep doing what youre doing Kyle, and check out Deviantart. They have some cool stuff there. You might even been able to get someone to make one for you. Im currently looking for one as well, ill PM you if I find something.
Thanks you for the serious answer and advice. Glad to see someone see’s where i’m coming from haha. I’ll let you know if I find anything too!
That’s fine and all, but would you book them if their a shitty DJ?
Hardly, just making sure he has his priorities in check. You don’t put the carriage ahead of the horse, do you?
true…whats Deviantart?
A simple Google search pulls this up as the first hit.
okay? I asked you what it was…It looks like a bunch of art to me. Would it have that hard to explain it to me? I never said i couldn’t find it…
Did u not ask for a logo.. thats a site where people post there art.. there are forums there.
How did you figure out these forums?
Here’s a kinda cool place to get some ideas.
If you google ‘free logo creator’ you’ll get lots of links to software downloads and online logo building sites. Try a few out!
Another good place to look is www.dafont.com . They have lots of free downloadable fonts that could be used for logos.
Let’s play nice, kids!
Not the point. Thats like asking if you would hire someone who didnt put in an application. Regardless of skill, everyone should think about marketing themselves. One of the first steps towards that is making sure you can be presentable.
As for your reply to what Deviantart is all about, a simple explanation like this would have probably been helpful and in the context of your response, less harsh.
" Deviantart is a place where artists both amatuer and professional post different works of their portfolio. Users can browse them and comment on them. It might be a good place for inspiration or for making connections to an artist that might be able to draw something up for you."
I understand that this is the internet and that some people are more “social” savvy than some, however, these forums are around to help people. If you honestly believe you are above someone, you should not even bother and just let others like myself, help out people like Kyle in a way that might be more constructive.
