yea i had that in mind but all the fonts are just so plain is there anyway I can get better fonts

There are loads of free fonts on the internet. Also if you Google “GIMP tutorials” there are loads of free guides on the internet that will also suggest some respectable fonts.

Looks like a pretty standard sort of font, with a little perspective shift and some 3d filters added, but hey i’m no expert :stuck_out_tongue:

there is a website (but cant remember the address) where you upload a sample image of the font you want to find and it gives you the closest result possible… do some googling :slight_smile:

the “in stereo” is just helvetica with the interior spaces filled in and the letter spaces are tighter than normal. Try to steer clear of free fonts online. There are a lot of good ones but many of the decorative fonts just come off as cheesy and tacky. You’re better off hand drawing whole thing and then just tracing it in adobe illustrator. That way you can have a fully custom look.

Nonetheless, making a logo for yourself is a LOT harder then it seems on first sight. But i’m sure you’ll find that out for yourself sooner or later.

Just try and make some graphic designer friends.

^^^ Welcome to DJTT! When it comes to making logos, less is more, imo.

I made this logo for myself in about 10 minutes. It’s nothing special, but it’s better than nothing.

you need to go to fonts in system prefrences and add all the new fonts you want and all the programs that use fonts will recognize them, designing a good logo is about simplicity and just enough color to catch the eye.

this is all based on my experience.
i just got my logo done with the help of a friend and my gf. i would say try looking for some graphic design students (guy i used went to the art institute). they’re usually very cheap and have decent work. my guy gave us three completely different versions of our logo for 20 bucks

for something like a logo, you should probably hire a graphic designer. or make friends with graphic design student or someone fresh out of school who will do pro bono work for you as many will when they are developing their portfolios/networks.

fortunately the dj community is full of graphic designers so this shouldn’t be difficult. it seems like atleast 25% of the djs on this forum are designers or design students, myself included lol.
