I like names which sound plausible to be real names but they aren’t your actual name.
Maybe I’ll go for Bill Orly some day ![]()
Nah I actually like Steve Stone as a name you know alliteration in the name ![]()

never trust a guy with 2 first names.
My mate Adam plays out under the name ‘Ewam Hoozami’ which I do like …
I’ve been lucky that my nickname works well, and since i used to play a load of my mates parties etc, it stuck better than anything pretentious. (Belch = Matt Belcher)
My mate goes under the name Joshua Roberts, although his name is Josh Robert Stokely.. he says that people feel like the already know of someone with a name like Josh Roberts, which seems a valid way to justify it! i wouldnt have known if he hadnt invoiced me for an event!
go with whatever you feel comfortable writing autographs with ![]()
Lolz, Riley Jones is the name of my daughter. (Jones not even being a family name.
)
Gals with two first names are good ![]()
real name: max
some1 said i sould dj as mad max, so it stuck
i’ve been going through the same thing, thinking up a dj name. i’m pretty sold on not wanting “DJ” in front of it… and i’ve been tossing around this idea. let me know what you guys think:
brinco
brinko
kid brinco/brinko
my real name is brian and “brinco” is spanish for “jump”, which i think is pretty sweet. part of me thinks it’s too… candy-sounding or something.. thoughts?
(i like “anson” by the way)
i struggled for ages deciding whether to use my name
but since i was young i always used “cmster” as my internet name on anthing
logins, blogs, videos, pictures, networking ect
in the end this has stuck and now its DJ Cmster
i like brinko. reminds me of a wine producer or food or something which is good.
im also kind of stuck on this.
a old fellow DJ gave me “sleepy giant” as a dj name and i used that for a while.
now that im almost 30 that name just seems a bit silly. im leaning towards using a variation of my real name.
Eric Dean Towne
maybee just Dean? kind of makes me seem smart.
also thought about using a family name. my dads name is Harold Dean. sounds like a old man!
your thoughts?
Cut your real name in half and put a 'ster at the end of it. Thats what the pros do whistle
When I came up with my dj name 13 years ago, it wasn’t too naff to have DJ in front of it. Now I think it is a bit.
In fact if I could change it on here to just MaxOne in the settings then I would, but i’m not sure you can.
My name is Max and it was a bit lazy to just stick a “One” on the end of it. That was just a bit of a trend for DJs when I came up with it.
In a way i like it though cause it’s my real name but not my full name - a agree with DvlsAdvct about having a bit of privacy by using a moniker. Also I like that they are both 3 letter words.
However, it has stuck and everyone knows me as Max One.
When my MC used to shout Max One when I played old skool and drum and bass it just worked too.
Alister…hmmm…another ordinary forename.
And how about your real-name? It is “Je” ?
