DJ TECH Mixer One - Broken?

DJ TECH Mixer One - Broken?

Hey,

I recently bought a mixer one online and had it shipped to me. Very excitedly I tore away the packaging and plugged it in. However, I haven’t been able to get it to work. First my computer said the drivers did not install properly. Then after restarting and unplugging and replugging a number of times the drivers seem to have loaded. Windows says the device is working properly. However, I am not getting any MIDI messages being relayed to Traktor. Also, the LEDs do not light up.

My question is to those of you who have one of these mixers and have it working. Did your LEDs light up when you first plugged it in (either via MIDI or the wall) and/or do they light up when you open Traktor (like my Kontrol X1 does)?

I’m wondering if the device possibly got damaged during shipping.

Just wanted to clarify my setup. Using a Gateway PC laptop with Windows 7 loaded on it. Traktor v1.2.

Sounds like you don’t have it set up properly in the midi set up in traktor but try a midi monitor program just to check the unit is ok

maybe import a tsi…?

Is the Midi button lighting up when you hit a button on tracktor its locared at the top bar center I think it says CMD with a light next to it. It should light up when you hit a midi command even if it isn’t mapped to anything at all.

Hey thanks for the replies guys. A couple points. No the MIDI light is not lighting up in traktor hence the reason I said traktor is not receiving messages. Importing a tsi at this point would be useless because traktor isn’t even aware it is receiving midi input. I still want to know at what point you guys see the backlight buttons showing up. I see no backlit buttons or fader levels. All my other midi devices light up as soon as they get powered on but this one does not. Could someone please tell me how their properly working mixer one responds? Thanks.

Don’t know much about that mixer. Have you tried a different cable? I don’t think there are very many people on here with DJ Tech mixers. I know one guy was asking about one the other day. Maybe he’ll pop in here.

Yea I think its kinda weird that there is practically no info anywhere online to be found about this mixer. No reviews, practically no posts, no troubleshooting guide, and no one seems to have it!

I’ve got one coming but it hasn’t gotten here yet. I’m sure someone on this board knows of a program that can check for midi signals. Theres gotta be something out there.

Here’s the other thread on it - [HELP] DJ-Tech Mixer One: Leds and function mappings on Traktor Pro - he posted a tsi too.

This should tell you what midi signals are coming out of the mixer, but I’ve never used it so don’t ask me for help.

i have a VTT-101

I use with windows 7 ultimate.
It sometimes fails to recognize.
It seems to work best when it is the LAST usb device to be plugged in.
Not sure if that helps.
But yea, sometimes if I plug it in first and then the audio4dj, the computer doesn’t recognize the vtt. Not sure if this is simply a usb or win 7 issue, maybe a little of both.

Ok so I figured out what was wrong with mine and I have a feeling this is whats going on with yours. First of all what processor/motherboard is your PC running?
I bought a new laptop with an AMD processor and it would never load drivers. After trouble shooting every possible thing on it including different operating systems I took the mixer over to Office Depot and plugged it into every computer they had on display. After about half a dozen computers I realised that when it was plugged into an AMD system it failed but when it was plugged into an Intel system it worked fine. This happened 100% of the time. I emailed DJ-Tech but have still heard nothing back from them.

this is with amd tl-58

and windows 7(not sure about the board)

it’s been working fine since i stopped plugging it in before the audio4

i already responded to reeftech in a private message he sent me but just so the rest of you know i do indeed have AMD as well. i’ve sent dj tech two emails. one about a week ago and one several days ago. they have not responded to either. so i think i am going to return the controller and look elsewhere…which is unfortunate because it was a very simple and cheap mixer that had pretty much everything i needed from it in terms of features that i could use in traktor. oh well i guess… why native instruments can’t make something like this to compliment their x1 i have no idea. the s4 is a little more than i want to spend right now and it doesn’t have hi/mid/low kill buttons. anyway, good luck to the rest of you with this controller.

That isn’t the device we’re talking about.

My solution unfortunately was to go buy an Intel Laptop. I have a nice AMD one for sale if anyone wants it.
