Dj Tech Tools needs a radio station
Hey, I think dj tech tools needs a radio station.
Any ideas about this?

Exactly! Would love to hear more of the DJ’s on the forums, “tired” of listening to their 10min mixes on repeat 
we used to host an internet radio station until we lost funds for a decent connection..but actually recently my friend who has quite a fast server just told me he’s setting up an icecast protocol on his server, which would allow any of us from wherever we are (giving that you have a decent connection to the server, enough to broadcast the music you’re playing at the given bitrate) to broadcast to it. it’d be great because we wouldn’t have to all gather in one place to dj on it. his bandwith is 1TB/month so..it’s plenty i feel 
I agree, it would be nice to have, even if its pre-done mixes
could do some thing like this the torq guys have been on it for a while

i used to broadcast out of traktor 3 to an internet radio service..forget what it was called. anyhow, wasn’t that bad once you have it set up right.
Isn’t there a website that offers to broadcast radio streams?
Or Ean maybe can install something on the DJTT server … dunno …
If there is a portla like Soundcloud for Streams we should definitely check it out,
and test it properly with a few people.

Good idea, just hard to get a following for it, but I’m sure its do-able. Everyone here just needs to promote the shiet outa it.
Yeah, thats gonna be hard in the beginning. But if it hits, it is probably going to work by itself.
Something else we should think about is getting some hours on another radiostation, like every thursday 2 hours, or something.

Just a random thought, we could actually do a contest here on the forum, which user is going to spin on the radio show.
So we would have the best guys on the show!!
Edit: Not just once of course, for every show or something, so we get some rotation into it!
there’s another one called shoutcast, very popular.
problem with setting it up on the TT server is that, if we wanted to host a decent stream (at least 128kbps), broadcasting constantly would really slow the site down, even if it was just us who were connecting. it’d take an investment to bump up the sites bandwidth if we wanted to get this going, which leads to ads, lame promotions, etc. however, it’s very possible to set up a protocol through the server, provided this site has a dedicated IP and accessibility to add server applications.
Yeah a seperate Server or a service would probably be a lot better.

I personally wouldn’t mind a couple ads. And I don’t think we’d need a contest to decide who DJs. There are many hours in the week. But maybe for the more desirable slots…
The best idea though is using an external host for the radio station.
