DJM 750 send/return

DJM 750 send/return

Hi Guys,

To enhance my DJ-sets I’m learning how to use guitar effect pedals in the send/return channels of my pioneer mixer
a DJM 750.

I’m using pedals as the Boss pitch shifter, digital delay and reverb. I connect my pedal(s) in mono.

Let’s say i’m playing a track on channel 2, the effect is selected on channel 2, effect selector is on send/return and the dry wet button is completely dry. Then if I switch on the effect trough the push button on the mixer all sound is gone and when I turn up the dry/wet button the sound comes back.

Is this normal or is my setup wrong? how you guys do this? this is very confusing when switching between the mixers effects and the send/return due I have to change the dry/wet button constantly…

Thanks in advance

Jazzy G

Personally, I’d avoid going mono on the mixer. If you have later RV or DD pedals, they are stereo. I’ve used a DD-7 with the X1800 Prime, which I understand has a similar S/R to DJM mixers with no trouble. I leave the pedal level at around 3/4 to full all the time, and mostly leave the pedal active.

Definitely get stereo FX pedals and ensure you have proper staging. I haven’t seen very many people do it in a long time, but I used FX pedals with my pmc270a way back when. Now-a-days it is a better investment would be a RMX1000, since you would need to buy $14 worth of FX pedals to have the same functionality as an $800 product.
