I have been a member of this community for roughly a year, and in December (2011) I bought my VCI-100 from this forum. I was told that this VCI-100 had the updated 1.4 Firmware. However, upon opening the VCI in preparation of the arcade mod, I realized that there was no 1.4 Firmware Chip. Seeing as how I purchased it informed that it was at 1.4 FW. I am extremely frustrated about this whole situation. This transaction was via PayPal
What should I do? Better yet what can I do? Though I know it is my fault for not checking this sooner, I also was told it was at 1.4 FW. Could I get my money back?
Whoever has any advice or ideas on what I can do it would be great! DJTT Rocks!
I sure hope you understand what you bought before you go around accusing people of fraud.
You cannot see what firmware it’s running by looking at the chips inside.
If someone with knowledge of this device could tell how to identify which FW the VCI is running, it would be awesomely appreciated.
I like gravy or vinegar on my chips, however it does not make them firmware 1.4 or otherwise…rather makes them soggy.
Oh, and as proud almost ex-Canadian, I can tell you, if you get poutine west of Quebec city, its a FRAUD. It must contain squeaky fresh curds from the Charlavoix region or maybe Gaspe.
I have eaten some odd things, but never infected corn. On the other hand, in the Niagara region of Canada, and some other places around the world, the juice of frozen and/or moldy (though if left on til the winter, they gotta be moldy, right?) grapes is fermented into an ambrosia that defies description. No, its not “prison wine”. The German’s call it trockenbeerenauselese…I think.
yeah to confirm what people are saying, there is no visible “chip” that you solder or plug inside to upgrade the firmware, so you cant tell if its been upgraded by opening up as you have done.
i assume what your referring to is the upgrade adaptor. This was a small adapter/circuit board that you plug into the VCI temporarily so that you can hook up a serial cable between the VCI and Computer to perform the firmware update (which is software that your installing) and then both the serial cable and the adapter/circuit board are removed again.
I can make some mean quesadillas with Huitlacoche or cuitlacoche (both spellings have been accepted by the real academy of the spanish language) …they’re actually quite good!
You can also get chips and salsa if you really need it. Although, not all gourmet restaurants will cater chips on the side.
