Do crossfaders affect my monitor output?

Do crossfaders affect my monitor output?

So, I just got a new A&H Xone22 mixer, and hooked it up using the separate monitor output (RCA) as my main, just so I could use it with the computer speakers I practice with. But both channels come through, moving the cross-fader has no effect. Is it supposed to be like that?? Doesn’t that kinda defeat the purpose of having a monitor speaker in the first place?

yes it should be affecting the monitor output, as it’s the same signal as master out.

what are you using your mixer with?

I don’t know the xone22, but what do you have your monitor output set to? Is it set to master?

It’s just a basic setup, 2 turntables and Serato. There aren’t any options for setting the monitor, so I’m assuming it’s supposed to be the same as the main.

Have you checked the cross fader settings? My pioneer has options for dif crossfader setting and one of those makes no difference when sliding the crossfader

Try this. Turn everything on, and take a clear picturing of it. Maybe that will make it easier to help.

Try toggling the “X FADE” button just above the crossfader.

Thanks but it was defective

Thanks for the advice everybody, the x-fader really was defective, I returned the mixer and the new one works perfectly
