with real drums you wont get that sound from a normal snare drum, they have tuned the heads VERY tight to get that pingy cutting through sound but on a normal kit snare this’ll make it pretty high pitched.
Its a more specialised percussion drum like the type used in regge or maybe samba or other percussion based music which is physically taller/deeper, so that when the skin is tuned tight it still has a relatively low tone. Something like a Repiniqe maybe.
Best bet would probably be to try and find either a samba or regge sample collection or a normal drum that has a very tight tuned snare sample which is mostly tone with little actual snare sound, then pitch it down a shade and add some reverb and maybe a bit of delay.
I’m not sure how to mix my song (which is only in Maschine now) into Ableton and then use the TAL together with the song?
I would really like to move my bassline and dub-bass (both from Maschine) into Ableton to sidechain compress then, since they’re competing for the sound as it is now - but how to do it am I not quite sure about (yet).
