DVS capable soundcards

DVS capable soundcards

What DVS capable soundcards are currently available new on the market, other than Traktor A6/A10 and Denon DS1?

Serato SL3 and 4 are still available new.

FinalScratch 1.0

Yeah, Ranes too. So nothing software free? I see MixVibes U-Mix 44 here and there, but not sure if the inputs are line or phono level and is it class compliant.

All soundcards are DVS capable.

Its entirely up to software support.

ie any soundcard can be used with Mixxx/Mixvibes/CrossDJ/

I tried mixvibes years ago, they provided a soundcard called the U46DJ which did have phono level inputs and was class compliant.
I think they now use a rebranded version of the MAYA44.

I have a U46DJ, and it is a very good DVS capable soundcard.

I also have a MOTU Ultralite MkII - that is a MONSTER of a DVS capable soundcard (but firewire only).

Both are now just back-ups for my DJM-850, though.

There are TONS of great DVS capable soundcards out there. Any of the Mixvibes ones are great. It all just boils down to what software you’re using, and whether or not you’re willing to “bend” the rules a little if need be…

Not true. You need enough inputs at phono-level for DVS.

A lot of soundcards have (even if it’s only software based) Input Gains, allowing you to adjust the line-level to allow for Phono type input.

The Motu Ultralite actually has an onboard mixer and assignable knobs for each input…

M-Audio stable drivers & other

Hello. What about M-Audio Connectif/Connective? I’d like to use it as DVS soundcart with Mixxx.
Current configuration: Windows 10 64 bit. Can i use M-Audio drivers on this system without crashes?
i’m looking for a budget solution for my DVS setup. While i use Timecodes i want to switch between Timecoded records and normal records on the fly. Is it possible with this configuration? And what about: Stability, response? I’m also up for different suggestions when it comes to buying a soundcart. Greetings

Most OEM turntables have a line level out now.

Phono inputs need the RIAA equalisation applied. Its not just increasing gain.

Isn’t it discontinued? Can’t find new one for sale. Same for the mentioned Maya 44.

New? Please some examples.

How’s MixVibes U-Mix 44? Is it class compliant and does not need driver for Mac? Are its inputs phono level? It’s an OEM card that was also sold under different brands like American Audio, DJ Tech, Omnitronic etc. Interestingly some of them had a phono/line button but only for one of the inputs (why?).

Software in use would be some of the non locked to a specific soundcard: Mixvibes, Recordbox dvs is working for now or even MIXXX. Also considering ios use.

Would this one work? OMNITRONIC ADI-002P Interface | Steinigke Onlineshop

Anyone tried two of these for DVS: OMNITRONIC ADI-002PL Interface | Steinigke Onlineshop ?

Ive had a good experience with M-Audio Conectiv.

On win 10 aswell? And what about switching records? Do i have to change something in software to do it properly?

Here is a table of currently available sound cards that lists what preamps they have. In addition to the Denon DS1, Traktor Scratch A6/A10, and Rane SL2/3/4, there is also the ESI Maya 44 USB+, but it doesn’t have phono preamps. Considering the price and the lack of technical specifications available, I doubt it sounds as good as any of those other more expensive sound cards. I don’t have first hand experience to definitively give an answer about the sound quality though.

Yes, but I’m not sure that a timecode signal requires undoing the RIAA equalization. I think Serato timecode uses a 1 kHz tone. According to the graph on Wikipedia, that coincides with a 0 dB change in the RIAA equalization curve. As for other timecode signals, I’m not sure.

Kinda, but you’d only be able to hook up one turntable to each.

It appears from reading this that there isn’t a “Thru” mode for playing vinyl straight from the turntables, if that’s what you’re asking.

Yes, Mixxx has vinyl passthrough. Thanks for pointing out that it should be documented in the manual though.

Do it the old school way - “Y” splitters directly from your TT, with one pair going to your sound card (and returning to your mixers “Line” input for a channel, and one pair going directly to your mixer, to the “Phono” input for the same channel.

Then, just hit the Line/Phono switch on the mixer to select audio from your sound card (Line), or directly from your vinyl (Phono).
