To answer your question: Of course, the Kontrol F1 can serve as a standard midi controller. The only thing that might not work that smooth is giving the pads multicolor LED feedback via a midi mapping. And your mapping might not become as complex as NI’s F1 Traktor mapping is as there are no modifiers in Ableton Live.
