I tried both the TMA-1’s and HD25’s in a side by side comparison for about an hour when I was in the market for a pair of cans to replace my technic 1210’s.
For me, the TMA’s were a little looser on my head than i liked and they were also fairly bass heavy. It was the amount of base that turned me off and I got the HD25s.
I have a few friends who gig with the TMA’s and say that yes they have heavy bass but thats good when the system your playing on is farking loud. But for the it was the actual frequency of bass that it put out that didnt sit right with my ears.
A lot of people rate them highly. They are not my headphone of choice, but they are a great headphone
I agree with you. It would be neat if was a choice of color though. That being said, yellow is never one of my “go-to” colors of choice.
Tape some Pikachu ears on top.
Though this fixed a couple small gripes I had with the headphones.
And of note, the TMA-1’s are larger than the HD25’s. They are about the same size as the Xone 53’s, which run on the larger end of things. For someone like me (who has a large skull) it’s a plus, I couldn’t deal with the smaller size of the HD25’s for an extended period of time (a buddy has the HD25’s, loves them, and let me try them. Sound great, but too small!).
I imagine this is some sort of play on the Adidas version of the HD25’s, which I honestly like the look of much better than this version of the TMA-1’s.
