I’m a dj from Brasilia, Brazil. Finding proper gear here is a pain, and most of all, very expensive. Usually the conversion rate for US$ to BR Real (R$) is 1-2.
For example, a Kontrol x1 usually found US$200 there it is R$ 850 or even more.
My parents are in SF right now, and they return on monday (sep 19th). I’ve asked them to find me some gear:
Kontrol X1
Stanton Uberstand or Crane stand
Anyone knows where they can find this on SF? I need a store, as web stores do not deliver to hotels.

Any recommendations on new gear for djing on traktor?
I do business with the guys at World of Stereo on Market Street. They have never done me wrong and I’ve been going to them for years. They carry everything from controllers, club mixers, CDJs and turntables, mixing consoles, software, synths, everything you would want.
They also got a store in Petaluma which is near where I live, so they transport equipment and stock between the two stores - just because you dont see it doesnt mean they dont have it.
Hey go figure haha, I’m located near Santa Rosa actually, wasn’t aware there was people local to this area (I always assumed most in bay area/socal).
Anyhow GONT, tell them “Mike from Windsor” says hi!, they’re really cool (recommend asking to do business with Marvin, really cool and easy going guy) and fun to bullshit with if you have the time. I go in there sometimes to let them pick at my brain about controllers since traditional DJ equipment and music gear is more their thing.
Well, thumbs down for world of stereo! I’m really disappointed.
I talked to Muklim on the telephone. Told him I was speaking from Brazil and my parents were there to get the Kontrol X1 and Crane stand for me. I asked a discount. He said both for $300!
Now my parentes just called me from the store, and he said he NEVER SAID THAT. Come on, I’m not dumb. Now he wants to charge 350, no discount at all.
