General Production Questions / Setups

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since i’ve posted, but i’ve been secretly stalking the site on and off.

Anyway I was chatting with Padi earlier about production in general and interfaces as well, and he suggested acquiring and using an Audio 6 as my interface for now. I will be using mainly my midi keyboard and maschine for production and plan on getting a mic to add vocals to my tracks hence the need for an interface.

So now I have a few questions. For those of you who produce what interface, programs and gear (mics included) do you use?

As of right now for production this is all my gear:
AKG K702, Ableton Live, NI’s Razor, NI Maschine, Novation SL 49 MK II.

What I am looking to acquire:
A microphone, and interface

It’s jus so I can see what everyone in general uses, and hopefully they’ll say why they chose what they did.

I plug my HD25s into the headphone jack on my laptop (even though I have an Audio2), and I use the built-in trackpad and the computer keyboard in lieu of a midi keyboard (even though I have a mini midi keyboard for my controllerism anyways).

I like simplicity :slight_smile:

saying that, when it comes to controllerism and DJing, I have far far too complicated a setup haha!
