followed everything you said, an now when i turn the MIC/RTN fader up and the aux 1 knobs on mixer it brings my traktor track into the delay, cheers dude…
but ive got a few problems lol… its just like a simple delay, and when i move the parameters of my delay plugin, it doesnt change anything? like in ableton im on the track where i dropped my delay plugin, and no matter what i press of parameters i move, the delay stays the same? it’s as if its been sent into some different standard ableton delay, it doesnt seem to be going to MY plugin delay?
I also quit out of ableton and jut had traktor running, and i could still send my xone92 traktor channels into that delay, like coulf still hear the FX lol, is this normal?
What do you mean by this dude> “In Ableton, raise the Sends for the FX you want to full in channel Xone 92 AUX.”< ?
I moved the sends up and down tried it on every track in ableton but it didn’t make any difference.. hm.
I’ve attached a picture of how i got it all set up mate, let me know whats happening! Cheers mate!
If the delay is working even when Live is closed, it sounds like you’re just getting back the signal+latency of your soundcard. That would explain the delay not changing when you change parameters in Live as well.
Check a few things again:
1: Audio routing with cables - should be your sends from the mixer to ins on the soundcard then from outs on the soundcard to your returns on the mixer.
2: Audio setup in Live - set the in/out routing in Lives preferences first to have the ins from whatever channels on your soundcard you used and outs to whatever channels you are sending audio back into the mixer with.
3: Channel audio setup - make sure the audio track you’re using for the effect is set to take audio in from the soundcard (I think you said 3/4 earlier but this is up to you). Check to see if your master outs are being sent to the right channels on the soundcard as well (look on the master channel in Live).
4: Set your effect on the channel and set dry/wet to 100%. Play around with parameters while you have turned up your sends on the mixer. You should hear the effect.
If that still doesn’t work, upload some larger screencaps of Live and I’m sure someone will be able to see what’s wrong.
Hm, I started up Traktor today, without opening up ableton at all, and I pushed the Xone 92 MIC/RTN faded up and turned AUX1 knob round and it STILL applied some delay FX over my track!? WTH is this normal?
And yes routing is right I believe, I followed what JFDS said,
Xone92 AUX 1 to Audio 10 MAIN IN
Audio 10 MAIN OUT into Xone 92 ‘RETURN 1’
For live audio audio preferences, I just clicked everything box (so they all turned yellow)
It was something like ‘mono 1/2’ and then ‘stereo 1/2’ it went all the way up to about 9/10 I think I just ticked them all, is this right?
I just set the audio track to take audio from EXT.in and set the numbers to ‘1/2’
Okay I’m going to take more screenshots of my ableton preferences and audio track/screens.
Not sure why the picture I posted came out so small.
Cheers
Will take pictures of all my preferences and upload after work to tomorrow
I’m going to open this set up, back up tonight or tomorrow and get them preferences pictures, ill upload them to here and hopefully sort this out, pretty much got it now, but not 100%.
Are you guys still okay to assist with this? Thanks.
Off course, just a quick reminder I have exams coming up this week so I will try and sort out my friend’s setup next week and publish all the things I’ve set up for him!
Ah nice one JDFS man. Appreciated. I’ve pretty much got it all sorted, think its just some Ableton preferences/plugins that need to sort then it’s done. Will upload all my screenshots tomorrow mate, cheers!
Like the ableton digital routing side of things? From the top of my head i know the mixer and audio 10 routing is as you said:
Xone 92 AUX 1 going to the Audio 10 MAIN IN, and the Audio 10 MAIN OUT going to one of the return sections, RETURN1.
Followed your picture of ableton set up, copied it, but their wasnt an option to select ‘xone 92’ from the ableton ‘audio from’ part.. I’ll take thorough pictures and explain exactly everything I have done tomorrow so you can see!
I’ve got this working, I have all 4 Traktor decks on all 4 of my xone92 channels, then Maschine coming out of the mic channel 1, Maschine is open as a plugin inside of Ableton, so I can apply a delay plugin over Maschine stuff. That’s what I wanted, but, I would also like to be able to apply FX from Ableton over tracks I’m playing in Traktor, so I opened a new Ableton session, and followed what JDFS said but had no luck, until I played around a bit with the audio track, now, I managed to get the plugin to FX over channel 1/Deck A, but the only thing is, I didn’t have the MIC fader pushed up… I just rotated the AUX 1 knob at the top of channel 1 on the Xone 92, now is this right? Because I’m sure the MIC/RTN fader is supposed to be pushed up first, not sure if I’ve done something wrong…
None the less, I did get that to work, but I’m not sure I can do this with Maschine linked up as well, I think I need a bigger sound card than the audio 10..
Hi all,
Since we are all trying to achieve what Chris Liebing is doing in his video “How I Play”, I found this : The solution maybe this guys? We have midi controls on Xone 92 if I am correct? So see following tuto I am sure that this is the right way to be able to use aux 1 and 2 in xone 92 to control 2 different types of effects on Aux 1 and 2 in 4 decks of Traktor http://www.notape.net/files/eqs4/mia...21-66a35cf.pdf with of course Maschine plugged to aux 1 or mic on Xone 92
Correct?
Would this work? ))
Well that wasn’t my point since I don’t play out often in clubs yet and that I can bring my stuff wherever I need to play if needed. My point is to get the most out of my current setup. Plus if I need to practice on a DJM I can ask my friends to do so… I am only looking for a solution here so what’s your point?
