Gig Anecdotes!

Unfortunantly there no controller availiable that I might rewind and remix this part of my life.

My Life - The My mix remix…

please rename the thread to bloodbath anecdotes…

Seems to be the way to go, right?

Xolunt that is absolutely crazy, glad you made it out alive though…

Somehow think I had better cancel that holiday to Indonesia pretty sharpish!

Ridiculous.

That’s the kind of shit you just can’t make up . I bet you could get Quinten Tarantino to co produce a movie of that with you .

Peter Griffin: Okay, that sounds like a nutty weekend, but I can top it. So me, Cleveland and Joe are just wrecked on Southern Comfort. Right? We know we’re going to puke but Joe says, “Let’s go see Chronicles of Riddick.” We sat through the whole thing without pukin’. Then I get home, wouldn’t you know, I lost my glasses.

Hahahahaha

No body should be deterred from visiting Indonesia, the place is magical.

It was my own stupid fault that I was injured.

If anyone should pay a visit to Bali, be sure to make your way to Deejay Cafe.

The owner is a DJ fanatic, who had alot of money and decided to build a club and more importantly a sound system the way he believed it should.

It only starts to get busy just after the sun is coming up.

The owner is just a music nut, its not a how many people I can get in the club orientation, its all about the music.

there motto: Deejay Cafe : Music is the answer.

Maybe not everyones cup of tea, but I enjoy it!

Interesting. I’ll be there in April. What type of music do they play there?

Costs me like $500 → $700 Aussie to get a return ticket from perth to bali :stuck_out_tongue:

Which is only about roughly $350 → $500 US

Its a popular holiday destination for people living here because its so cheap.

dude thats terrible. i’m glad your ok. althought i never want to see the word “RUGBY” within these fine forums ever again

Dark House / progressive hous/techno.

sorry, cant elaborate any more than that, not really to good at identifying sub genres.

Ill be there the last few days of April, so if your still there I can show you the better haunts.

However, depending on your taste, a good night would go

skygarden 12 - 2 resident DJ’s are good. (what I refer to as samba orientated house/ house/ electro has become popular there, this is mainly due to the amount of Australians that frequent the place)

Dejavu or Bacio 2-3:30 (these clubs are 100 meters apart, Play similar music, offcoarse depending on the DJ)

66 - 3:30 - 5:30 this is next door to Bacio, cool place, sometimes can get a little tedious for me, but im there alot when home. Gets a lot of the big acts coming through. I just missed Timo mass, he played last friday. John Digweed played not so long ago - the list goes on.

Oh, it has a pool with a bungee jumping platform, its not uncommon to all of a sudden hear a motor bike from 30 merers above you as some one goes over the edge riding the said bike attached to a bungee.

Deejay cafe (the office) 5:30 till close…

then if your really keen you have two options… go ta a local balinese club in the middle of a rice field. The music is an expierince, its like trance mixed with local traditional music… my balinese friends refer to it as machine gun music..

I thought it funny, the first time I went to a balinese upacara (ceremony)… I was sitting in the local hindu adat (local cultural centre) for my friends wedding. I was introduced to all the family, it was all very tranqual and cultural. I was sat down with the men, the women only 10 meters away…

all of a sudden I was subjected to this balinese take on hard trance music during this wedding. It was so funny for me at the time.

anyway… Option 2: you can make your way to the airport, jump on the next plane to Jakarta and take a taxi straight to the Stadium. Open thursday to tuesday 24hrs. ( was open 24/7 about 2 years ago.

Again another magic place.

and off coarse the third option… go home to bed, wake up in a few hours and do it all again.

Gig Anecdotes

The place to read and to post Gig Anecdotes is (of course) http://www.giganecdotes.com – looks like it’s only been around a couple weeks, but they’ve got 5 or 6 pages worth already. Let’s represent the DJ community as a lot of theirs are from musicians so far

who wants the honer of reporting the spam?

And why not pray tell?

Rugby is what has made me the physical wreck I am today I’ll have you know … though it did leave me with the ability to drink my own bodyweight.

sorry if that seemed too spammy, I’m just excited. Please accept my sincerest apologies, and carry on.

No biggie, but when your post count is 1 and that post has a link…

 and rugby is what keeps me busy as a 'physio. Besides, expect things to go a little ‘regional’ during the world cup. Apropos the war stories - not sure I’d like to play with a BPvest on. In South Africa - renowned for it’s violence - it’s amazing how little aggro there is at the clubs. Other than some of the kids getting tanked and a little stroppy, music seems to be a good unifier.
peace

horrible stuff. did you ever find out why this dude was hacking people up? what a psycho. sometimes i’m glad i live in boring old new zealand.
