So,on august i’m going to play a duo with a guy, first time i’m going to do this, i was thinkink, how we can have both traktor in sync with 2 separate pcs?
my setup
vci arcade
launchpad
traktor 2 pro
audio 2 dj
hp
his setup
hercules mk4
lpd8
mpk mini
traktor pro 1
mbp
we cant use one pc for different settings and programs, and i was wondering if there is a way for playing with 2 pc.
the only way to sync two pc´s is via midi cable. but you´re a2 has no midi i/o and i don´t know what your buddy uses as his interface.
me and my buddy just whatch on the other ones bpm and sync manually to the beat, that works quite well!
thanks everyone, ya midiclock with this soundcard isn’t possible, i’ll try to find that ethernet solution!
8D
or beatmatch manually, not a big problem, but with sync with that guy was simpler.
but is it possible with your controllers? i dont use the controllers you have, but there is no reason why you cannot send midi clock using the controller midi in and outs on each controller, if they have the standard 5pin sockets
I managed out how to send midi from pc to ma usino the Default midi audio of the Mac, so thanks for the hint!!
Now another question, i got a mixer at home, that i’m not using, we can plug our RCA in 2 chanel of this mixer and the Connect to the audio club.
But i was thinking of a way for not using it, because there Will be too much gear to bring.
There is a way to merge our RCA cables in one, so we can plug in a chanel of the club mixer and not use all the 2 decks chanel?( a guy playing Cdj is after us, and then we’re going to play another time at last, after another Cdj duo, so we can’t use Cdj chanels)
Played for a long time today with that guy, the problem is that with midi sync the bpm is fluctuating soooooo much, and after 1-2 min the tick of the bmp is no longer synced.
So, the options are, continue to press sync in the send Midi clock tab, or beatmach manually, that was what we were doing at the end.
Is it possibile that all this fluctuating is caused by the fact this guy is using traktor pro 1? I have tp2, maybe if he upgrade tp the sync clock is gonna work better.
the fluctuation will always happen, but the audio should stay in sync perfectly, aslong as you have your settings done properly, and your tracks are beatgridded perfectly
that was the problem, the audio after a few time was not synced anymore.
the settings was, he send the midiclock from his mac to mine, so, miclock send active in his settings and off in mine (i don’t have to send it)
master tempo set to int 128 in his mac, and ext in mine, play button on in his midi send and press sync in the tab.
created a generic midi in my setting with out port none and in port the midi connection, created a generic midi in his setting with in none and out the same midi connectio.
all the deck synced.
For the first minute the track was always synced, but after a while they loose the sync, due the fluctuation i think, and he have to press sync in order to resync everything.
Don’t know why.
Maybe not for the faint of heart, but if youve got everything beatgridded fine then you could just read the bpms off each others screens? its not the best method but thats how i do it with my mate in the club
Yeah that works but make sure you and your mate have the same BPM’s as we play drum and bass and we went B2B with some other DJ’s on the night and most of them had drum and bass BPM’s 1/2’ed so it was constant doubling on the spot.
I don’t care what the teachers said in school maths isn’t fun, especially when slightly drunk and in a crowded booth aha . .
