Help! Novation launchpad and ableton setup

So i just bought a launchpad and was trying to set it up. I installed the drivers, installed ableton live (launchpad edition) and set it up under midi drivers. The launchpad does show up on the available midi controllers and I followed the instructions to a tee on how to set it up but it still does not work. I am fairly frustrated and really do not wanna wait hours to talk to a customer service specialist who may not even be able to help me. If someone has any tips or can walk me through I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks all. Cheers

try unplugging it and plugging it back in…or maybe restart your computer.

trying putting some random clips into ableton and see if they show up on the launchpad
