HELP! Twister/Ableton: Can’t manage to switch banks via midi notes.
Hello guys!
Please can you explain me how to switch banks on the twister without pushing side buttons?
I’ve tried this:
create midi track (MIDI out to “twister device control”, ch 4 (global midi channel set in MF utility)
create midi clip with D-1 note played at the beginning of the clip (as described in user guide, this note when sent to the Twister should switch bank to BANK 3).But when I play the clip nothing happens.
I tried different midi channels and send different notes by playing midi keyboard, but Twister doesn’t respond to these messages.
Midi connection works, beacuse twister works normally when turning mapped knobs.
I use Ableton 9.5 and Mad Zach’s Handy Dandy device control script.

We made this change since the low note value was a bit of a pain to work with in software that don’t allow you to filter by Ch. so people were getting low notes on synths.
In order to send a CC with a dummy clip click on the E (Envelope) button and then select the CC you want assigned under MIDI Ctrl, make sure you draw an envelope with 127 velocity to trigger the change and of course that “Track Out” is enabled in the preferences for your unit.

Now it works, but not completely as I expected - I’ve succesfully created clips which are switching to banks 2,3,4. But I can’t create clip to switch to bank 1 because Ableton doesn’t offer option to send CC 0. The CC range offered is only 1 - 119 (pitchbend or channel pressure doesn’t work).
I even tried to record the message of the side button press (switching to bank 1) but it just created automation lane at CC1 with value 0 (which is not working in order to switch to bank 1).
It seems Ableton blocks outgoing CC0 for some reason.
Can it be solved somehow or I will have to wait for the new firmware?
I wan’t to use the twister live on stage and there is another gear around twister so side buttons aren’t accesible for me. And I wan’t to automate the bank switching for specific mappings within different parts of the performance.
And one off topic question - would it be possible to have mor virtual banks than 4 in the future? I think just 4 banks are a bit limiting this amazing piece of hardware.
