Recently I’ve been going over my history section in Traktor after sets/gigs. Its pretty telling about how you played. Anyways, just curious if anyone else did the same. When DJing clubs, I’ve noticed I average just over 100 tracks in a 4 hour time span. (Mainly top 40/house/Hip-hop). Anyone else have any results? Curious as to what you guys might be averaging.
If you’re not doing 4 hour sets, include your timeslot/frame along with you’re average.. also what style of music you’re playing.
Where is the history section in Traktor? I was not aware you could see what tracks you played after a set. Are they in the order you played them as well?
If you want to see your set after you have closed Traktor you need to check ‘Archive’ which is in the Explorer Node.
History is only a record of the current session and is cleared when Traktor is closed.
Yeah, most other DJs are pretty shocked when they see me mix. They can’t really get their head around the fact that someone can mix 3 tracks in the space of less than a minute, but then again most of them still beatmatch manually.
Is 90 (or 20??) seconds really enough time to listen to a piece of music - specifically in that genre? Mixing fast isn’t difficult, but it’s not necessarily productive.
Is 20 seconds long enough to listen to a phrase of one track? That’s all I’m doing basically, creating new tracks by combining phrases from multiple ones.
