How would I incorporate fast forward into my VCI100mk2?

How would I incorporate fast forward into my VCI100mk2?

How would I incorporate ‘fast forward’ into my VCI100mk2?

so i can quickly get to the middle of the track

I as thinking "shift + jog wheel "

or if that’s too difficult

“shift + two non mapped buttons.”

I’ve gotta be honest the pokey mapping screen on traktor makes me all stressed out.:rage:

so I’m totally dreading making alterations to my mapping.

but i really feel like i need fast forward somehow.

on the jog would be great but buttons are cool too.

Can anyone help me with this?

i can post the midi information etc from the manual if anyone needs it to help.

anyone?

I had a look and the current mapping doesn’t have and modifiers

so to make shift work on the jog wheel would i have to add a modifier to all the current jog actions?

it might be easier to make it on a button

any tips welcome

you could map your jog-wheel to “seek postion” (found under transport) which basicly lets you fast-scrub through your track.

if you dont know how to do this. google/search-djTT your way up

cheers for info and picture bro.

i feel like i’m moving in the right direction again

now i know the correct name for it  (seek position not fast forward)

I’m giving it a crack over the next few days.

Let us know how you make out.. i was thinking about the same thing today.. The Pioneer CDJ 200 has this .

Thanks!

my picture is taken from my vci100 (mk 1). the jogg has two different (hardwired) modes (two encoder-notes, lets call dem x and y). I can switch between scratch/notesX and seek/notesY with this button. I dont need no shift (or in other words a modifier)

i would guess the mkII hast such a button too!?

if you want to make you own mapping in traktor. u need to know what traktor can do, how u can implement it ( = how the controller-manager works) and then where, which midi-notes come in through your controller.

Cheers for the info. I’ve looked into it more today

the vci 100 mk2 has scratch if you touch the wheel (metal middle bit), and bend if you touch the outer (plastic) bit of the wheel

it appears to have one switch and one encoder per wheel. (is this different to the vci100mk1)

the shift button is not a modifier in the tsi map but alters the state of some of the buttons with 2 commands or labeled “…” for unmapped

ok here goes

I set up a modifier- number 8 (modifiers 1 and 2 are used. i thought I’d start from the other end)
set left shift to make mod 8 go to 1 then off (HOLD)
set right shift to make mod 8 go to 2 then off (HOLD)

set left wheel to seek position - only when mod 8 is 1 (ie when holding left shift)

set right wheel to seek position - only when mod 8 is 2 (ie when holding right shift)

Holding shift and wheel makes fast forward.

–I could extend this to deck C D with mod 8 set to 3 and 4–

@FLoer cheers bro :slight_smile:

notes:
I remember someone complaining that the reloop map used all the modifiers so i kept modifier 8 for both shifts.

also i used midi ox to check what midi messages

and when LEARNing the wheel i kept turning it as i turned learn off. so it would remember the ‘encoder’ not the ‘button press’ for the wheel

here it is:
