real djs use shoulder straps ![]()
Real DJs have sloping shoulders, tinnitus and a wonky neck. I’m cool without that.
I only converted to the digital way of thinking at Christmas, and only then to DVS. And only then so I could play my mp3’s, as vinyl is indeed getting rarer and pricier!
But then I discovered DJTT and have since bought a Launchpad, MPK, midi mixer and much more! (Would have been cheaper to keep buying vinyl!), and I love it. But I’m never EVER selling my Technics. Ever. ![]()
I still enjoy spinning every now an then, but much prefer digital. I think dvs is great for those who still like the hands on approach, but it doesn’t really bother me.
POW!
Vinyl…
Dude we have pretty much the same set up. We rock.
Got a pair of 150s?
Guitar center messed up and sent me 1 S arm and 1 STR8 Arm..
EPIC FAIL
Nah, citronic pd45 ultima which are basically exactly the same thing but with rounded corners.
I wish they didn’t have 2 start/stop buttons and had an adapter hole like technics did.
and you didn’t send the S back for a STR8 because?
Now he can be a mix DJ and a scratch DJ!
One word:
stairway.![]()
OP - I’m with you, man.
But you’ve gotta get a DVS system, mate!!!
Traktor 2 looks awesome. FS was not great at all, but it was the first.
You’ll still miss the record shopping, but you get a whole new world of digital digging. Grab a drink, and hit the online record shops, blogs, artist pages, soundcloud, etc… You’ll find LOADS of great tunes - free and paid.
Now is SERIOUSLY a great time to be a DJ. DVS for us old timers is super exciting. We can do everything that we always loved doing (ie - standing in front of turntables and a mixer) as well as getting involved in all the new stuff (midi/cuepoints/effects, etc…) - lots of fun!

Vinyl. Pow. Plus Midi.

How does the launchpad stay on like that?
Vinyl + midi. Hell yeah.
(I miss my set-up. Moving house sucks).
nevermind that…
bit brave having it in the window of what looks like a council estate…
i kid, of course ![]()
unless it is a council estate… then that is fucking brave
I haven’t downloaded any mp3’s in about 3 months…I bought about 25 records in that timeframe though.
I’m done with mp3’s. I still use them a bit, with TSP. But only early in the night. once the place fills up, its back to vinyl.
Since I’m spending 10-15 dollars for a record, it’s definatly going to be good, but paying 99 cents for an mp3 it is more likely garbage.
And, beatport sucks…so does stompy(albiet, a bit better). How many tunes has anyone downloaded from those sites and never play them? Sometimes, its a terrible tune, and sonically, it may sound like garbage too.
The MPK pads keep it on with some super friction! And it’s a military married housing estate, so everything’s safe as erm… houses. Not too far from Amazingstoke I might add.
lol, just how the house out the window looked… ![]()
how far from blazingstoke?
