I can’t get over the vinyl

:disappointed:
I can’t get over the vinyl!
I am dj since 98-99, I grew up with vinyl, I went to record stores… I played 30 records in one hour. I loved to browse my vinyl case. I have two releases on vinyl.

Tese days, record stores are closed, music is changed, no more vinyl releases…

Now I am a digital dj, I keep pushing buttons, I am good in that too, but i cant get used to digital stuff. Its like, soulless, plastic, unnatural for me.

I can’t get over the vinyl!
Heeelp :disappointed:

why didn’t you go dvs?

Indeed. I recently went to DVS, completing the circle. It’s naaaais!

i love vinyl but there is so much more you can do with dvs and midi. I still have a seperate turntable just for playing records

odd one out ftw!! turned back on tt’s and went full midi

can’t help think what i do would look more impressive 3 decks, a mixer and controller for samples on deck d though…

but think of the setting up!!! why i like my midi, one audio cable, one power lead.
proper job

Why did you switch to digital if you don’t like it?

my guess, would be this:

sounds like there’s not much choice in the Balkans

hence dvs instead of pressing buttons

aye

I dont know, i tried DVS in the beginning of DVS era. I had Stanton Final Scratch 1.0 but i didnt find it attractive…

I guess that only reason for switching to digital, was the fact that in those days vinyl became more and more rare. That is way I am on digital

I think I chose the wrong forum for this kind of story, since here ofcourse, everything is digital
Is there any nostalgic djs

there’s your problem…

CDJs with vinyl style rotating platters?

Technics had some, but they were hardly successful.

I never used final scratch but i have got traktor scratch with control vinyl and cds and am very very impressed with its natural feel. Using the control vinyl is amazing i think if thats what your into.

The denon dns3700 seems rather popular.

didn’t numark have these to? and who made the one that was both, played cds if the needle wasn’t dropped? or did i make that up?

anyone remember that stupid thing for scratch control on early cd players that used a wheel sat on the edge of a tt linked to the cdj? think it was for a denon unit?

or the line adapter for tone arms?

come a long way aint it?

i love playing my old vinyl when i can!! i enjoy it a LOT more than playing on a controller… but having said that, i still enjoy ‘spinning’ on controllers. and tbh i still play on cdj’s more than anything else.

this is definitely not the wrong forum!

Traktor 2 kicks the shit out of Final Scratch, far tighter, more flexible - it’s far better (and you can slap a piece of vinyl and play in through the software should the mood take you …)

Yeah, vinyl still has it’s charm. But there’s one major advantage of the digital route that is hardly getting mentioned: One man, no matter how strong, can only carry two or three full record bags

One of my mates, DJing for many years, now in his mid 30s, actually slipped two discs by carrying vinyl all the time.

Love those black discs, but I also love having a functional spine.

You’re forgetting about modern technology specifically designed to combat this problem- bags on wheels!
