I go by my nickname, dj is nowhere in my name. Its your call.
Do what you want mate. Nothing wrong that using for first name, like Dillon Francis.
For me personally, having DJ infront of the name sounds so cheesy.
You can’t protect it very well and people might think you are like another person, so I would go with a DJ name without DJ but significant to you. Like Ean Golden, or Mad Zach.
You can ruin anyone’s credibility by adding 2 letters to their name.
George Washington
DJ George Washington
DJ Yoda and DJ PP are the only 2 I can think of.

awesome
I use my own name, Dean Oakley.
My facebook page is set up as ‘DJ Dean Oakley’ which, for some reason, just doesn’t sound right. Unfortunately I can’t change it as I now have over 200 likes. But hey, in that sense it does distinguish between my page and my personal profile.
When it comes to flyers, it’s straight up ‘Dean Oakley’
These threads lol.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…I had a good laugh at that one man!

In practice, you shouldn’t.
I men, lok at DJ BL£ND, GuY getz al de hunnys
Yes, but just a first name is a bit odd. What if Carl Cox was just Carl? Or Richie Hawtin was just Richie?
Not using DJ is definitely fine, but I would try your full name or first + middle or something similar.
I put “DJ” in my username on here precisely because of threads like this, lol. When I wrote an article for DJ TechTools, I got them to put “D.J.” in front of my name as that’s even more old school. To me, anything that winds up people who have an aversion to the term “DJ” has got to be worth doing. ![]()
Trollin it up
DJ Shiftee, DJ QBERT are the only two I can think of.
DJ Shadow. DJ Jazzy Jeff. DJ Craze.
I like dj in front of my name, it means I’ll never get mistaken for an MC, and nobody wants that, right? ![]()
