If this isn’t the kettle calling the pot black, I don’t know what is
Are you phucking kidding me? These three are the biggest phucking hypocrites of the year. They deserve the blame just as much as anyone else does

jesus christ…
other artists are diluting the scene?
… wow.
…I mean…I like SHM. They make good songs to dance to, but I think everyone besides them know that they make popular house music. It’s not deep, it’s not electro, it’s not dutch, it’s straight pop house. I have absolutely no problem listening to it, in fact, I really like Until One, but wow.
Rofl
Theyre just trying to stir up controversy to promote their upcoming smash single with justin beiber. Theyre hardcore like that man.
Poor SHM. I used to appreciate them, but they’ve become so awfully flat.
Detracting from their own sad diluted trivia by focussing on others.
I can’t see the video for some reason,
I guess its just an interview with the transcript on the bottom?
Just trying to get some attention I’d say. Who wouldn’t? haha
I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the music, if they have a genuine love for it then by all means have at it. Just realize what you are doing though and don’t try to justify it as anything other than what it is though.
classic
I have no idea who these guys are. Good times. ![]()
first off - i love SHM and and as a testament to that my ticket to tonights show in London shows i was the 42nd person to get tickets to a 10,000 sellout show. I saw them last year just after the release of “one”, so it could it be an interesting contrast to see what a year of being noticed in the UK chart has done to them performance wise. (last year was the craziest party ive ever been to! i hope this one isnt watered down)
Anyway - i get their point, Radio 1 in the UK is the perfect example, a crappy pop song will come on thats got a kinda house beat behind it, my mates will love it but i just cant get into it, its too watered down and in a sense like they say, cheesy.
But then, i guess other dance music producers will say that about SHM ever since they started making it into the UK chart…
meh.. circle of live
I stopped pop electro/house years ago (gateway drug back into more underground styles) and seeing this on Resident Advisor this morning made me think "what a bunch of bollocks, this coming from them ? With how big and easy they’ve become ?
(side note, I don’t like to say this but I’ll apply a classic hipster rule here : “I liked them better before they sold out”)
I had to double check to make sure I wasn’t reading The Onion or The Daily Mash (though I suppose The Star is only a couple of steps away from being satire
).
Seriously though, do any actual house people consider what they do to be house music? It’s preset of the week garbage.
Sounds more like a remix of some Coldplay song than an original House track - the video is rather boggle too…dogs are cute but the whole thing doesn’t really flow very well to me.
I disagree. I think Radio 1’s music policy is really good, they play a lot of new stuff and make an effort to put different stuff on their playlist - e.g. Skream’s remix of I <3 U So by Cassius was on the A list for a while. Yeah they play the poppier stuff too, but it’s not as bad as Capital or Kiss FM, who just play shit. I think Radio 1 make a good effort to add a bit of variety.
It’s just lowest common denominator pop house innit.
My 12 year old sister likes SHM. End of story …
